I kinda like the idea of Indian Rarity, even though I'm not sure if purple and brown complement each other well.

Rainbow Dash is a Latina trans girl (because tomboys are never cis).

This one bothers me, if only because it's once again SJWs playing onto stereotypes, even if they always claim how they're against stereotypes. Any female character that's kind, shy and gentle is turned into a muslim (bc islam is a race to these people), and any girl that's fiesty, sassy or sexy is turned into a spicy latina. Bc latinas are never feminine, shy or demure, no siree.

The art it's self isn't that bad, although has some elements of Tumblrina art, but it's just the description...
"he/him or xie/xim"
...
Did the artist just ignore the fact that all of the gems are female/take an female form (Steven is half-gem, so he doesn't count)?
Glorified trap fetish.

Why is it that their idea of Indian people are always super dark? (Not that there's anything wrong with being that way.) There are ones that are much lighter (and don't use skin-bleaching creams) or are paper bag level brown. Sure there are ones that are as dark as Apu and Manjula (sp) from The Simpsons, but not every one of them is. So it would be nice if they had more variety.

You know what's funny about feminist art prudes like BBAD is how much they will kiss Sunstone's ass and make excuses for it. Especially since it's about sexy bisexual women in a lesbian relationship where they dedicate themselves to the BDSM lifestyle, the other straight couple has the woman being a sub to her dom boyfriend, its written by a man who purposely gives many of his women same face (or makes them look alike) because those features are hot to him, I wouldn't be surprised if the creator gets turned on by his own work and any art outside the covers of his comics is lazy.
I find the way he draws women very angular, stumpy, flat, boxy or pointy, I dunno his art rubs me the wrong way. I get that its "realistic" but his ladies figures look boring and slightly mannish. Otherwise his technique is good.

Also his linework is sloppy and the coloring is often outside the lines and looks flat and lacks effort past the nipples. Also his backgrounds are sparse or subpar. He can be decent when he tries; emphasis on tries. Overall, I used to like his work, but now it just really urks me.

Toriel and Fluttershy seem to be the two characters consistently shown as Muslims. So I guess it's cool now to make the shy and motherly characters fit into a stereotype.
Well, women in Islam are made to be kept silent and do shit for the family (or what I call the Breeding Ground)

Also, isn't being trans in Islam haram?

Not in Iran it isn't. "Iran carries out more sex change operations than any other nation in the world except for Thailand. The government provides up to half the cost for those needing financial assistance, and a sex change is recognized on the birth certificate."

This is not a recent development either. Even Ruhollah Khomeini, the man who lead the Iranian Islamic revolution of 1979, the man who called for the murder of Salman Rushdie, said that sex change was okay.
Make of it what you will.

I blame the Indians from Steven Universe. I remember seeing some fans crowing abut how great it was Connie and her family were Indians who were dark-skinned oh my gosh...

It was around before Steven Universe. I think it goes back to the SJW mindset of wanting to transgress beauty norms. Because lighter skinned women are preferred in Indian culture (like many other cultures), making the character darker skinned is a way to be rebellious.

Thing is, much as SJWs want to scream this preference for light skin is due to colonialism, it's not (or at least it wasn't originally). As I recall it's like the historical preference for fatness because it related to prosperity - if you were lighter-skinned, it meant that you were rich/well off enough you didn't have to fucking work or go outside, like a peasant. Dark skin often meant you were a fieldhand or had to live somewhere dirty/grimy/in the outdoors. It's like this /everywhere/.

(Nevermind any religious connotations, because the whole "white/light = pure and good, dark/black = dirty and evil" is older than fucking dirt.)

Because of the outside work thing, darker tans are also traditionally associated with masculinity. For instance, in a lot of anime the men's skin colors are a few shades darker (the easiest example to Google for this is Team Rocket from Pokemon, since they're a traditionally-animated male/female duo who often appear together in screencaps- someone pointed that out years ago) but it's typically that way across the board.

Hmm, yeah I see it.

Makes sense as well, since most of Europe and Asia believed in stricter gender roles than other cultures (and not always Europe, we can't forget scandinavian shieldmaidens).

It's actually not because they accept trans though, it's because they decided to offer it as a way for homosexual men to avoid execution; if they undergo sex change then the state legally recognizes them as a woman, so a lot of gay Iranian men do it simply as a way to be with their partner and avoid being sentenced to death for homosexual ity.

What's ironic though is that the Pokemon anime show portrayed James as having not-so-subtle homosexual and transgender tendencies.

Hell, that's also a tradition older than dirt, to the point it's become a vital part in identifying individuals in ancient art pieces.

BullJumping.jpg

Minoan Bull-Leaping Fresco. The one doing the actual leaping is a male, the darker-colored figure in the middle. The lighter figures at the sides are females. Even if you were intimately knowledgeable about Minoan culture/art, the fact is that ancient art temds to be...well, ancient, and thus it can be difficult to identify the figures/what you're looking at. But the dark/light tradition almost never fails. Same for Egyptian reliefs too.

If they weren't so busy trying to revise it to force their own "colorized"/"MOZART WAS BLACK" rhetoric, SJWs could benefit from a fucking history lesson.
