That reminds me of when they started arguing about fantasy wheelchairs again and pretending most adventuring parties wouldn't immediately toss out someone who couldn't walk and fight in a profession that's all about travelling and fighting.

To be honest I might not even mind that much if they actually did something creative with it. Like an enchanted chair with spider legs or some kind of robotic mount. But no, it has to be crummy modern wheelchairs that cannot cross most terrain and could get easily broken. Hell, they went and made the Druid’s wildshape crippled too!

If a player brought this kind of bullshit to my table the first quest the party is going on is to an artificer to get the cripple a mecha suit or something. If you're going to be a faggot at my table, we're going to make you a kick ass one.

I think they actually do have a good amount of imagination in there....it just tends to get bogged down as they are also usually following the "right way to think" and as we know, that hampers someone a lot. Modern wheelchairs happen to follow within that mindset so of course they go with that...and also the idea that "one's disability is not a hinderance, but what makes you unique and must be embraced, not cured"
