Trans or not, it's at least better drawn other Tumblr art. And the person behind it hasn't really thrown much to describe outside of just saying it was a he. Then again, looking at the character, it might fall under some sort of guro fetish which is creepy in its own right.

Maybe it's a translation error/typo? You see that sometimes with foreign artists on Tumblr who don't have English as a first language.

(Or it might be a 'trap' character but the likelihiod of finding one of THOSE on Tumblr is like finding a damn unicorn.)

There is a trend of pushing the boundaries of ambiguous-looking characters nowadays, even on tumblr. It doesn't look so much like a guro fetish, more like one of those BJD-looking things that crop up in Tearzah's art.

I honestly thought these were original characters for a series about an 1980s crime-fighting duo who were both men.

A faw days ago I found one deviantart user who is Tokyo Mew Mew Fan and has a lot of OCs for it. Those OCs was created when autor was a teenager and were your average weeb art. She decided to redesign those characters and forced diversity is obvious.
It's a pity, because artist is really talended.

I remember keeping tabs on her work. She had quite a cute style to her work, but the tumblr pandering is kinda obvious in some parts, especially the pronoun game for her characters. I don't think her girlfriend's that bad.. okay, she's a genderspecial too. Well, shit.
