Of course it's problematic. In the same way gender bends are problematic because cis women and cis men think exactly the same so there would be no change if you changed the sex of a character, but traaaaaaannnns, ah, they are the golden gender to whom the mysteries are revealed. So it is totally different to have a transwoman versus a boring cisoppressorbreeder female.

Why do they always cling to characters that have little to no personality? The Pokemon Go guys, the Neko Atsume cats, all of them littered with fanart and headcanons and whatever...Is this some weird :autism: thingy?

They have just enough character to them to be interesting, but are vague enough to fill in the gaps with their own headcanons.

Characters with little to no personality are easier to mold into something that parrots their personal views and fetishes.

They're also clinging onto them because it's been revealed the artist for the professor and team leaders is Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates artist. (And No More Hero's)

His designs are normally great, good anatomy for anime-ish games, but I've seen a lot of people call his previous designs problematic.
 
You know how SJW artists always redesign characters to be ugly, fat, and "inclusive"? I sort of wish there were people who took shitty Tumblr art and redrew it to be actually attractive.

I have a Tumblr that I post art on sometimes and every day I fear becoming a shitty Tumblr Cartoon Artist™ who draws beanmouths and red noses and slitted pupils on their lightly browned genderspecial characters... To my horror, I recently discovered that I actually had started doing the thing with the eyes.

I've since worked to correct that.

personally i've got no problem with the whole shipping aspect but it's so fucking annoying when people force headcanons that are so obviously based on stereotypes. apparently short hair=TOTES LESBIAN UWU and somewhat androgynous=TOTES NONBINARY UWU. and don't even get me started on "LOLOL MEME LORD HAHA SIN XD UWU I LOVE MEMES IM SUCH A MEMER"

I find it funny how tumblr creams themselves over shipping Ichi with the Christmas couple (again, more characters with no personality to latch onto). Considering how emotionally draining poly relationships are, it totally makes sense to pair them up with the brother who has the most emotional baggage of them all. That's a disaster waiting to happen.
