Out of all "sexualities" the asexual one definitely should be a monolith. You don't engage in sex, period. Anything more means that you are sexual. Either the lightswitch is on or it's off.

I agree with everything said here. I knew the reboot would go "woke" to some extent because it's 2023 and Gandhi, but I was hoping it wouldn't. The original had duller colours (maybe it was a late 90s/early 2000s thing?) so the new characters being extremely colourful makes them stick out like a sore thumb. IDK what was wrong with the original designs for Frida and Harriet. They looked more like realistic/typical teenagers and not someone who was indoctrinated by danger hairs.
