Art history fact: Rubens draw only mythological and fantasy figures this way and idealised their bodies. Same for guys, they were bulky and very musculated, but mostly if they were Greek gods or something. Personaly I really like this style for eyes (they looked really good in Scooby Doo Mistery INC for example), but it really shouln't be used with different colouring style that flat colours or cel-shading. Here they are especially awful.
And it gone viral and people believe it? Tumblr is worse than I thought and I'm called tumblr-hater by my friends.

While I was going through Go Make Me a Sandwich's Pathfinder screechfests over the art, something occurred to me. Even as a teenager, this kind of art didn't bother me that much. Trust me, I was teen comic fan during the 90's bad girl craze. Sure it was kind of annoying when the breasts were way too huge or the outfits were ridiculously skimpy, but good I saw was that it was giving female characters the chance to take the lead and have their own titles. (And some of the characters were likable.) I guess I built a tolerance to it over the years.

In regards to the second link you left, I like how this Sandwich lady is bitching about barbarians being vaguely racist. Because obviously, a barbarian character would never wear fur. They would wear full plate or normal clothes that wouldn't tell you they are the sort of people that represent the primal side of humanity. And they must be reference to Native Americans. It's not like you'd have European looking barbarians that could be like the Picts (who at one would have warriors that fought butt-naked) or Asian barbarians that fought only in loincloths while high on cocaine or shrooms.

Is that Kou? Dear God the only way I can tell is because he has "sun" on his shirt. If I complain about someone making a athletic character fat again I'll just sound like a broken record, so instead i'd like to point out that the drew cutting scars on his arm. Is that a thing now? Drawing someone who's dissatisfied with their life with cutting scars? If that's it then a ton of characters from 2 to 4 should have cut themselves too.
Seriously what's with sjw's and Persona? I've never seen them do this with the main Shin Megami Tensei series games. Or maybe I have and I'm just I'm just repressing the memory.

They changed Mark's race to black when they did the original localization for Persona 1. (They wanted to appeal to an American audience by setting it in their country and making the cast look like they fit the setting more.) Even then, he looked like an black person.

I have a friend who was actually harassed about having "too many white characters" and looking at her art now, some of her characters that were always white/pale are just this vague brown now. It makes me wonder how many of these artists were just pressured by assholes to stop drawing white people.

Man, this makes me miss 10 years ago, where the worst kind of fanart was making characters look anime esque instead of ugly genderspecials. At least the former didn't make my eyes bleed.
