Not long. Though originally it was a right-wing phenomena, it's gotten repackaged by anyone who thinks the rules don't apply to them, regardless of ideology. Black nationalists use it, as do potheads, and other segments of society's outcasts.

AIGHT~ SHIT so I actually have to write this up now DANG, this is more of an Artist Beware post at this point, alas..
Yo so in 2014 I was just finding my feet in terms of digital painting and didn't have the benefit of being choosy with who I worked with, Christmas was approaching and lo and behold our friend here wanted to buy a piece of art from me
I don't have the initial Note or email asking about the commission , but I do have the finished work and the notes that followed
so for context he asks me for a scene of his character with a dancing pole, aight, here we go~
Cool, a Lion? should be easy to draw, lets look at his refere- oh...
Notice the lack of any real definition on this reference sheet... along with no real indication as to body type... Oh and the wings... and the uh... gun... "okay, yeah a totally sane individual"
SO ME BEING ME; I was like "Aight okay I'll just draw this guy beefy seeing as he just LOVES the bigger dudes I draw" (he literally left the same fucking comment on every upload I made leading up to this) "cool, that works for me!"
We finally decided on a price for the piece, the second red flag was needing to pay a $150 commission in installments, but, it's okay, it's approacing Christmas, busy time! People are tight on cash and I need a Ride back to my folks in the north, I accept the terms, cool, two payments. rad.
SO he pays me the first half and I get to work
and he's initially PRETTY HAPPY, I spend a good couple of days on this piece to get it looking AAAAAAA+++++ and I finally upload it!

so he ends up taking a little longer to finish paying, but christmas is close and I wanna get it posted so BAM I do it.

admitely I could have been WAY MORE PROFESSIONAL in the matter, but we all make mistakes..
I tried to fix the shading on the piece to make him look less fat but to no avail, and I had a heap of other work to get through..

but he keeps showing up in my streams.. I was already fairly uncomfortable at this point...
and then I recieved this...

So after almost a month he's decided he is so unhappy with the piece that he'd like it removed from my gallery. after all of that, that's cool, I took it down (again, I didn't have the foresight to screenshot the submission before I took it down but it wasn't overtly dramatic) and that was that.
OF FUCKING COURSE I TOLD MY FRIENDS ABOUT IT
and as a quick little "Artist Beware" I made a tweet saying "oh this guy was pretty difficult to work with, probably best to avoid"
teeeeeeny mistake there.
after some other friends of mine got involved and started spamming his page I took down the tweets, little bit of damage control. but it was too late, he's already written me a very strongly worded email.
He then wrote a (since taken down) Buyer Beware Journal about me on his own blog.. it was kind a shit show.
ANYWAY. that's all I got.

Unless it's a different artist he's talking about (in which case, it definitely sounds like he's a difficult person to work with due to his ingratitude, so you weren't the only one), but still, sucks to hear that, man. Thanks for sharing. At least it blew over without much problems, from the looks of it. It could've gone worse, and at least you didn't approve of your friends going after him.
I'm quite amused at how he admitted he's in his 30s when he wants to be 19 forever. Can't always keep up the façade, I guess.

second one looks a bit more flat, but far more accurate. I like the wing touch-ups.
I do hope that the "fixes he wanted" was entirely sarcastic and not his batshit insanity years later. Though my assumption is that the prior is true.

I haven't been checking back in for, sheesh, think a year at this point since nothing was really happening. It just looks like he's been lying low for quite a long while now, his Twitter's locked down, he's not really posting on Facebook, and his Steam account's protected (he's apparently been playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive according to his Facebook, but that was back in May).
