The Constitution of the United States was created to enshrine the fundamental freedoms of this great country. Yet such freedoms were enjoyed only by a few privileged groups throughout most of America's history. Can any 200-year-old document (and its amendments) suffice to account for our modern racial, class-based problems as well as feminist and global-warming issues? Maybe it can. Or perhaps it should it be dispensed with to enact a new constitution reflecting our modern western values? Consider this as an analogy: Is using an old and sullied toilet paper again and again better than just buying clean tissues? Or has the American melting pot failed beyond repair? Perhaps political extremes such as Marxism and Fascism hold more appeal to your own political views? All options are on the table, and the table is for everyone. I welcome a serious discussion concerning the relevancy of our founding fathers' constitution in the modern United States of America.
It's actually amazing how well suited the Constitution is to fighting modern day left wing authoritarianism, almost as if somehow the Founding Fathers knew.
