Should I even bother applying to working for the TSA? I mean, the "is your soul and being a government agent worth it" but also being passing over in favor of Shaniqua and Juan is a concern. It's a question if I should even try.

UPDATE: Forget it.

Everyone will 100% assume you enjoy touching men's sweaty balls. If you're fine bring a known ball toucher, being florescent and the pays good why not

If you like lording over a tiny bit of power over people, sure.

It's like being a reddit janny, except you get paid to paw through (and maybe steal) people's stuff in the name of security.

I wouldn't want to interact with the average person traveling by air, much less touch them. I suppose making them stand in that tube thing would be fun. Join up with the border patrol, that's more respectable, you also get to ride an ATV.

How much do these useless oxygen thieves make doing this security theater shit?
Average seems to be $24.35 an hour. I want to work locally (not moving out of town for a government job I tell you that much) but it's basically something you can do on high school education, meaning I'm too overqualified anyway and I would be dealing with assclowns who are literally burger-flipper tier, and burger-flipper tier people tend to be the worst sort of people all around (and even you can waive that with some sort of security position).

It's 40 hours but never guaranteed daytime hours, it looks like "whenever the hell we feel like it, so check the schedule, wagie" (also like fast food) and if they hate you you WILL get stuck with the worst schedule. So it doesn't look like I'll be liked by anyone (co-workers or "customers") and the pay won't be nearly enough to assuage that or the shame.

Wait so what part of this job is desirable to you aside from groping strangers?
