I think this quote sums up this thread and my words pretty well:

And before you repost your very flimsy sounding “yeah this is totally a RP blog” description, you’re still supporting this behaviour and it’s just as disgusting. Go steal a damn conscious and grow up.

I don't think it's "Role-playing" if you actually do it. It's Role-being.

Honestly, I'm curious if any of these fuckers have ever stolen from a store that isn't some huge national chain? Like, Target probably will have (and follow) rules about what they can and can't do, but steal from that locally-owned smoke shop on the corner? You're probably going to get your ass beat.

Seeing them cry after getting caught is hilarious.

by no means am i condoning shoplifting--i think it's awful--but i would like to have a talk with whichever "law friends" told her to not lawyer up. shoplifting charges are SO easily successfully fought (for better or for worse).

also, lol @ ignoring a fucking civil demand and thinking it'll end well
(/law nerding)

I find it difficult to believe they're lawyers. I'm sure police would tell you not to lawyer up, but they aren't being your friends when they tell you that.

Even for free, a lawyer telling you that should be disbarred.

absolutely. i just hate seeing shitty "legal advice" pop up on the internet, especially when it's actually relevant and important. (again, not on the lifters' side here--i just hate legal misinformation.)

Also lol at not needing to put a misdemeanor theft on a job application. It's gonna show up on your record and you'll get denied for lying I don't know what kind of genius is giving her legal/life advice.. any theft is a big deal cause nobody wants to be around thieves, many apartment buildings won't even let you live there.

That's very true. When I was in high school, one girl bragged to her friends about shoplifting and what she'd steal. Whenever stuff went missing guess who got blamed for it first? I even thought it was kinda bullshit because stealing from Wal-Mart isn't really the same as stealing from your friend's room but that's just what conclusion people come to.
