Ah, the shoplifting side of Tumblr. I remember a while back when people went batshit crazy when this side of Tumblr got exposed (kind of like the druggie side of Tumblr, but that's another thread). You had one people on one side saying "This isn't going to help destroy capitalism at all!", another side saying "This is racism, white girls are being racist by using their whiteness to steal stuff!", and another side saying "This is hilarious!".

It's a fucking mess.
 
I like the ones who get indignant about criticisms of their lifting multiples of the same thing because "we sell them, duh!" Of course you sell them, you little shits, but the fact that there's an explanation doesn't make it even slightly more acceptable. Please, though, continue to sell shoplifted makeup at school and get your dumb asses caught.
 
I like how many of the shoplifting tumblrinas other reblogs are pictures of like fancy houses, expensive designer good and women holding huge stacks of cash. I feel like they believe lifting is the way into this kind of lifestyle, or a way to taste it. It's sad.
Personally, I knew an IRL shoplifter who put all these Tumblrinas to shame. He employed a getaway driver, and stole daily, selling to pawn shops around the area and not getting caught for years and years. He did eventually get caught, though. He also lived out of a motel and his parents disowned him for his "career" so not really a glamorous story there.

At first thought, I wonder if "role playing" is the Shoplifting Tumblrinas version of SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me) as used in the drug culture. Both are token flimsy attempts to hide culpability when they do something illegal.

Like other people have mentioned, it's amazing how the only things these cunts steal are junk like makeup and fashion accessories, never necessities like food, baby formula or toilet paper. Has anyone ever brought this up to any of these lifters? It'd be interesting to see the mental gymnastics they employ trying to explain themselves.

But the makeup is worth more, so when I steal 5 of each I can buy food I need--like frappucinos! Daddy only pays for 3/day. /sneed
