So I decided to go on and make the fake shoplifting tumblr.
I'm going to post reasonable stuff at first, then escalate into stealing plants etc. along with terrible shoplifting "tips" and ridiculous political screeds.
The problem is, I don't buy a lot of things that aren't food or lolita clothes (which are 99% online only) so I'll have to get creative

This bothers me too. Especially since like 50% of these posts contain 2-3 NAKED palettes. I know it's a popular pallete but come on.

I've never stolen anything and never considered it as a thing I'd do either. Kinda sucks because when I go out I often carry a backpack just because I have sketchbooks and shit, and I don't want people to think I'm trying to lift things. It messes with my anxiety and paranoia like no other even though I know I'm not doing anything wrong. :c

That being said goddamn do I ever hate these people. The closest I've come to stealing is borrowing a bradle from my teacher for bookbinding without saying, and I am gonna give it right back anyway. Also sometimes I would "score" at school when I found a pack of mechanical pencil leads on the floor.

Dunno man I came from a less than well off family and we never stole shit. We just went without because we fuckin knew better.

okay I gotta disagree. Sure there are a few shitty cunts stealing...or pretending to steal to get attention...but that doesn't mean that the parents of this generation as a whole have failed, nor does it mean that shop lifting is any more prevalent than it was in the past. If tumblr existed 200 years ago I can assure you robbers and highway men would have posted their loads with glee. XD
 
Yeah. Idiots have been acting up for attention forever. The internet just lets them do it in a more widespread fashion.

I would like to give a golfclap to the exceptional individual who advised that she goes lifting in her school uniform, though. During school hours.

The sheer size of these hauls is what makes me suspect a lot of these kids are lying and just posting shit they bought (well, that their parents bought for them, but you get the point). That, and the really precise prices on how much they "saved." I guess they could be looking up prices online or something, but otherwise, are they bringing little notebooks to the store to note down the price of everything before they lift it?

Back when we were all in high school, a former friend and my now-husband stole a giant fish-eyed mirror that was mounted at a sharp turn on a backroad to make it easier to see incoming traffic. It spent most of its life with us mounted in said former friend's apartment living room, and then eventually garage at the house I shared with him while we were going to college together. I think he ended up dumping it out after we moved out.

I can sympathize as someone who also worked retail. One wouldn't think that a pet store would be a prime target for shoplifters, but the store I worked at a couple years ago seemed to be. It's usually things that can fit in a pocket, otc drugs being the most common, and then can be sold online. Or returned to another store from our chain to get a gift card loaded with the store credit that can be cashed out at any store that offers gift card cashout service.

Anyway, I always remembered there would be a period of heightened security when it comes to light that the store got lifted. Managers went out of their way to drill additional protocols at the register and the floor that really did make us treat most of the shoppers like criminals, whether it was checking shoppers's personal bags/strollers for any merchandise when they're at the the register or asking for ID or other pieces of personal information during the transaction or badgering shoppers with questions of if they needed help finding what they needed.

The fact that there are kids bringing shit like this on just to get some expensive shit for nothing/take down "da patriarchy" and then teehee about it all the way to the Internet just riles up a rather deep level of disgust in me.

Well a lot of things probably still have the price tag or sticker on them, whether they've been bought or stolen. The only thing a lifter needs to worry about is any magnets that would set off an alarm or those tags that are filled with ink that explode when tampered with (if they're stupid enough to try removing it in-store.) Price tags/stickers usually don't set off alarms.
 
Wow this is pretty damn pathetic. I used to steal a lot as a kid (my justification was that my family was poor therefore I somehow 'deserved' it) but some of these women are adults, it really shows how boring their lives must be if pretending to nick a lipstick and some eyeshadow from a shop is a 'fetish' or 'fantasy'.
Honestly I just hope one day one of them gets this treatment.

Uhm amazon.com has good prices on supplements and I don't know if they still do but bb.com will let you sort all of their products by price per gram, shit gets insanely cheap. Fucking dish soap? Dude it's a dollar at the fucking dollar store, or just act like a man and use some shower gel or something.

I am not too surprised at the idea that people are re-posting what they are stealing on the internet.

I haven't had time to read the lols within this thread yet, however, I personally used to shoplift a shit ton back in the day - Started off small until it was expensive jackets, games, shoes etc - The group I used to hang around always stole expensive stuff and re-sold it to younger kids for 30% of the retail price (laptops, cologne etc) I was more "tech-savvy" than they were (they were mostly dumb ass local drug addicts) and there was actually a huge online presence for shop-lifting how tos on black hat forums etc - There is actually quite a lot involved when it comes to stealing shit off big company stores (the ones with ink bomb cartridges on their clothes, certain alerts on packaging that is hidden) - Most of the stuff on google is fucking stupid (like hollow out a book for a candy bar, the fuck?) but there are some sites that hold merit, and are more geek/nerd than dumb bitch roleplaying - From early posts it looks like people are doing it once again for the persona, and all I can imagine is that they are doing it to feel "bad-ass", but once again like all spergs choose the weirdest possible way of experiencing that feeling....

TLDR, Stealing is very addictive, has a fairly large following on some sites, however as a former every-second-of-my-day-out thief, I am not sure if I find it lol or just plain sad that nerds are once again trying to feel empowered by doing something thats relatively fucking dumb and petty.. (Sorry for grammar / composition, I am out getting drunk... and checking kiwi FML :( )
