I'm pretty sure that if they'd try to shoplift in the good ol USSR, the nice communist policeman would have just agreed with them.
And by agreed with them I mean given them an extended tour of the nearest gulag.

I'm pretty sure that in the USSR, stealing anything is considered stealing from your fellow comrades. So yeah, that sounds about right.


Maybe that's why they get so mad when scammers scam them. :lol: Well, probably not; they just want every excuse they can muster to chase that rush they get from stealing.

I don't think LUSH-type stuff would even be produced under Communism. They're non-necessities for one thing, and only the elite could afford that kind of shit. Mark Constantine isn't going to give that stuff away for the equivalent of 5 cents.

The GULAG system shut down in 1960, so it depends on the period. While some prison camps still existed after that date, shoplifting tumblrinas would almost certainly have gone to normal Soviet prison, where they would have accused prison gangsters of not respecting their pronouns and been battered senseless.
 
I had a coworker get laid off due to missing inventory 2 years ago. She had a 5-month-old baby at home. If anyone deserved that "emergency Walmart hormone lawsuit money", it was her.
Fuck shoplifters.
