Saying that even if you're "cis" you should still question your gender is like saying that even if you're not anorexic, you should still obsessively perform body checks.
Ugh, I have enough first world problems, I don't need a self-induced mental illness to make me want to kill myself.

I've been wanting to talk about this for a while. I'm browsing through Etsy to gain some inspiration and every time I look through the Pokémon keywords, I see the same design for various products and I bet you've seen them too.

This is an example of one of the many pins and enamel products out there and they're even on eBay and Aliexpress.
These pins are a stolen design from an artist called MaracuyasArt (original listing). She made the designs, had them made at a manufacturer and they must've took the designs and made pins to sell to bootleggers. Since then, these designs have been pumped out like crazy and I can find a whole load of unofficial listings and for much cheaper too.

This one in particular has the audacity to put her own business name on the cards and have no credit to Maracuyas herself. It kind of aggravates me because the artist can't do anything about it.

Though I'll say that the original artist has the prices set way too high (£17 for one pin and £54 for four pins) and if I wanted to patronise her and buy them at that price, I have to pay an extra £17 for international delivery so that's £34 for one pin. If she leaves it like that, customers would rather support the bootleggers because she's not a majorly famous artist that's (no offense) worth a high price tag like that. But it's her choice in the end so qué sera sera.

PS: I wouldn't mind getting the needle minder ones but I'm thinking of making one myself instead.

I was just power leveling in the consoomer thread about the craft show scene that I was involved in, and this reminds me of it too. I can't tell you how many times I've had to report to the show managers, hey, that's not hand made by the artist. At best, the card they put it on is. It's a practice as old as time. At the end of the day, Etsy sure as shit doesn't care. If ever a "true handmade" site splinters off, eventually it will succumb too. Just like how Joanne's stocks just as much impulse items and premade shit, never mind it's supposed to be a supply store. Drives me nuts. Oh, and depending on how desperate or inexperienced craft show managers are, they just let any crap in there including obvious MLM crappola.

It is pretty aggravating to see so many stolen designs on Etsy, and just in general. Etsy will have no problem penalizing a shop for the stupidest shit, but when it comes to actual issues like a stolen design or items that are not even handmade (which it seems more and more keep popping up on there) they could care less.
I feel especially bad for the quilters & people selling handmade patchwork because there are so many rip off “quilts” for half the price. I see these sort of complaints in my Etsy group constantly.
I’m getting fed up with them personally and really want to just re-open my shop on a personal website.

This is why I worry about getting an enamel pin made through one of those factories. I wouldn't care too much if it was a fan merch pin but if it was a character of mine, I'd be heartbroken that bootleggers would tarnish my OC's image.

I've had one design made and thankfully, no ripoffs have surfaced.

I have never ordered from Etsy. I have shopped though, and luckily every artist I've wanted to buy from has a way of ordering from them directly which I take advantage of.

I highly recommend ordering through artist's websites. Etsy has increased their fees from 5% to 6.5% and a lot of the money goes to Etsy through other fees.
I'd love to get my own website one day but I don't have the marketing skills to direct people to it.

Has anyone here ever watched Scream and thought: man I would really like to fuck ghostface, I’d fuck him so bad. Well lucky for you, you can buy your own lewd bodypillow for only $60!

The fact that it says 18+ is really unrealistic, I mean chances are if you have a credit card and buy it, is the buyer then going to ask for a birth certificate to verify your age? Doubtful.

“You’re 18 right”
“Yes.”

Absolutely fool proof.

Edit: After Etsy flooding me with ‘suggestions’ I’ve noticed that ghostface lust is just another Wednesday for people on Etsy.

I know I adore the half-regrown in stubble on the chest and legs of my fictitious love pillows.

I can't believe a former friend of mine bought dildos on Etsy, literally what are those after a quick search.

Spoiler titles are exactly how sellers named them.

Ew, they look 3D printed with all the ridges. Talk about a nightmare to keep clean. Yuck.
This is probably an Autism Trap, but it really bothers me when people use 3d printing for mass production.

3d printing is supposed to be for prototyping or making a one-off of something custom or OOP. If you're mass-producing a marital aid or a knickknack, you're supposed to sand/caulk the 3d printed prototype up to spec, and then have actual molds made from it.

I guarantee these fuckers have low density and are mostly hollow on the inside. Just imagine a landwhale/tranny buying one of these and it snapping while inside. Fuck at least do the trick of blasting with acetone vapor to make them smooth, these things would be like getting off with a fucking hand file.

Not to mention a lot of these things are probably made of PVC or a similar material which tend to be porous so they retain bacteria and secrete chemicals that erode mucus membranes and make it more likely to contract STDs from a partner. So unless they're made from platinum silicone they're fucking themselves in more ways than one.

I avoid etsy like the plague. There are way too many creepy, tiny, taxidermized animals and animal "objects" on etsy to even remember the worst I have seen, and even if I could I wouldn't want to post images of them here. There are just some sick fucking freaks out in the world.

I've seen the ones where they position dead rats in BDSM poses and gimp suits.
Ugh, not even rats deserve such an indignified end.

OK, couldn't find the BDSM rodents but I did a quick browse of "rat taxidermy".

Yeah its always somethin sick or degenerate like that. What kind of lunatic do you have to be. The worst part is I am pretty sure at least some of those animals were probably killed by the """"artist"""" to make their psychotic ass shit. I get that vibe from the whole thing :[
