They still are lol you are just an amerimutt

He wasn’t just part of the Tojo government he supported Japan’s actions in invading Asians countries

He didn’t want to tie Japan to the PRC and the USSR lol. He was highly critical of the USSR and was a fan of the non aligned leaders such as Sukarno and Gamal Abdul-Nasser. He was critical of China until the Sino Soviet split since he wanted a Pan-Asian alliance with Japan as the head of the alliance.

Are you saying Japan is now in a better place than what Asanuma would’ve done if he was elected? Lol
Asanuma would have never been elected into office you giant fucking retard. Japan has been controlled by one tentpole party for its entire modern history.

Like throwing off the WW2 treaty that forces them to not have a military, which would immediately give every other country in the region cause to shit their pants. Especially China.
Hasn't Japan already been chipping away at that? I remember a few years back they converted some helicopter carriers into de facto aircraft carriers, albeit STOVL only.

Yes, they have.

And now the political party that has been chipping away at that as a major part of their party platform just got a Supermajority because one of their most beloved former politicians was assassinated on live TV.

Like several people have mentioned, this was a Franz Ferdinand moment. A militarized Japan will fundamentally change the dynamics of the region. China has been utterly reliant on Japan being demilitarized and working under the presumption they'll be demilitarlized until they can invade and claim them as "always having been part of China." (IIRC, China has pulled some stunts with some of Japan's islands a few years ago, claiming they were Chinese islands and always had been, yadda yadda.)

In other words, if China wants to take over Taiwan, they might just now have a time limit. Japan as a militarized nation will NOT allow China to take the island.

In a few years, Taiwan should declare independence. Possibly during a RIMPAC exercise.

Are you aware of the SDF's existence? Japan has had a respectable military for decades, with tanks, warships, bombers, air fighters, and a whole bunch of dudes in camo with guns; they just don't call it a "military" to be compliant with Article 9, and in practice it's only been used as a deterrent and in peacekeeping operations abroad, never offensively. All a repeal of Article 9 in the short term would really change is that Japan could call its military a military, and politicians might feel more free to use the military offensively - probably not something they'd want to do in the short term anyway.

China and the Koreas would probably pretend to act all indignant about it because there are factions in their governments who play up nationalism and an eternal victim narrative, but nobody believes that Japan's going to start invading Manchuria again as soon as Article 9 falls. It'll just be the status quo, without the word games.

stupid ass question but how exactly did he get ammo? like it's not the easiest thing to make yourself. you gotta get a primer, smokeless powder, all that shit.
My nigger in Christ, lead balls are easy to cast. The ingredients for powder are simple enough to source, and primer is a non-issue given the electric firing mechanism he used

I wasn't able to find the exact schematic that the shooter used, but this one should be similar enough to pass

It's more than just Japan being more adventurous with their Self-Defense Force (military in all but name, tbh.) Demographics are NOT on China's side.

If you ever want to tick off a Chinese, tell them this: at least Japan got rich before they got old. China's average age is now higher than America's average, and it will only continue to grow. They've passed their max number of working age adults, and once 2030 rolls around, it's going to accelerate faster. They can't stop the demographic decline.

China's productivity sucks, they don't come up with innovative tech (they steal it), they've got 120 boys for every 100 girls, and they've got a billion Indians on their border who don't like them, either. They're fucked, and not in a good way.

Yeah, Japan is old AF and their demographics suck everywhere but Okinawa*. But at least they weren't killing off their daughters to have one son instead. If they had, Abe-san couldn't have told Japanese boys to go find a Japanese girl and have Japanese babies.

* Okinawans have more kids than the rest of Japan. Different culture, mainly. They marry younger and have more kids. Still below replacement level, but better than most in East Asia.

Leading up to the second world war Japan was an empire and held control over many parts of China and Korea. The after war settlements gave us communist China and and the Korean war. There might have been some Vietnam mixed in there also, but I can't remember. It's a whole complicated mess, but Japan has more claim to China than China has to Japan. Japan and Russia have been fighting over islands for a few hundred years. If anything China is just flexing to see how far they can go before big daddy USA steps in.

The JDF is impotent. Almost all of the microchip manufacturers are in Taiwan with TSMC being the world leader. TSMC is building a plant in America that is kind of being held up by congress. Talk to your senator and representative. Almost all of the little chips that make planes fly, aircraft carriers float, and Ford F-150's drive are made in Taiwan. If China were to invade Taiwan it would likely start WWIII and America would come to a draw just because we have too many people with too many guns. We can't build anything in America anymore. How the fuck could we start up a war machine.

I didn't see this angle posted. Only confusion from the first shot, impact on the second. Edit: lol it looks like a random woman got laid the fuck out by a suit (possibly security?) just after the second shot and whoever knocked her(?) down stopped to apologize... priorities.

Bruh tsmc is just a foundry for hire, a factory, they dont even make the photolithography machines that make the chips, asml in the netherlands does

If taiwan gets chinked its gonna suck for a little while until those asml machines are put to work somewhere else

That seems significantly more complicated than it needs to be. It might be necessary to fire a model rocket engine, but recycled gunpowder from fireworks would easily ignite by running 9 volts through a little fine steel wool.

It's not a complex design, the circuit is pretty simple. What you're proposing sounds like time better spent building a bomb

Apparently Abe's, party has won a supermajority.

Which is enough to get rid of the pacification clause and bring back the land of the rising sun.

Nah, I don't want to muddy the waters. I want the actual culprit nailed down dead to rights for this shit. Hideo Kojima is an absolute spineless scumbag for his cowardly murder of Shinzo Abe, and I hope they throw the book at him.
