Hopefully it doesn't have the same effect on Japan that 9/11 did on America: huge increase in paranoia, new government agencies, etc. Then again, it is a post 2020 world.

It's astounding how poorly protected many world leaders (and former ones, I guess) are. When Canadian prime minister Jean Chretien visited the major electronic games developer I worked at in Vancouver in the late 1990s the RCMP guards were absolute shit. They stood around in shades looking cool, but I was after shaking his hand able to walk right behind the man about a foot away, easily within shanking distance and there were so many others close by I could probably have stabbed or shot him in the kidneys and gotten away in the crowd.

I liked the man so only had that thought in the abstract of how poorly protected he was. No US presidential guard would have allowed me anywhere near that kind of proximity after a handshake, I would have been tackled for even walking around him the way I did Chretien.

Poor Abe.

In context of my story, Canada is a G7 nation. And the PMs Mountie guard sucks.

What's funny is that political killings were almost the norm in Japanese politics for the longest time and that's only changed recently. Hell, at least one Japanese politician was shot by a Yakuza member for what amounted to a fucking parking ticket. Of course, it's worth considering how much better things were when politicians lived in actual fear of their public.

Double the work force which leads to a halving in the value of labor, then less women having kids which is bad in a country (Japan) already having population issues. This isn’t my opinion, I’m reiterating it because I’m curious what the counters are, so maybe if you disagree provide one. I mean it’s a fact the value of labor dropped when women entered the workforce, that’s a serious issue.

Whatever the case regarding the positive and negative effects of such policies, I do admire the japanese stubborn unwillingness to allow niggers into their country in any greater tallies. It's like they have a healthy, instinctual realization that little good will come of it. That they apparently lack viable alternatives so long as they can't get their population to roll around in bed with each other in sufficient numbers is unfortunate, of course.
