💼 Careercow SHiFT / @shiftposting - Angriest speedrunner on earth. 20,000 hours spent playing one SpongeBob game. Frequently rages until his voice gets blown out.

No clue why this was featured, I guarantee he will be live with more world record grinding by the end of the week if not today.

He has these little tantrums when he doesn't get his way.

Better to burn out than fade away. God bless you, SHiFT, you annihilated your tendons for our amusement and joy.

Place your bets, how many days, weeks or months until the BfBB withdrawal symptoms start showing and like a relapsing addict he starts "casually" playing the game again just to feel anything at all, even if it is pain and frustration?
He’ll probably sniff his ketchup corroded BfBB discs to get some kind of high again. Something fascinating about a grown ass man getting upset over a children’s game never ceases me to amazes me.

20000 hours, there's an entire list of life skills and literary and cinematic masterpieces that could have been worked on/read rather than playing a children's video game for imaginary records that other people routinely cheat at.

I think there's a good chance He will return for a bit.

One must imagine Spongyphus happy.

If it takes 10,000 hours to master a skill, he could have mastered 2 genuinely useful skills with the time he dedicated to a children's game from 2003. Instead, his only accolade is going to be usurped when someone inevitably finds a gay optimization which shaves off 5 minutes. Speedrunning is retarded.

He hasn't at any point donned a Spongebob medallion, has he...?
Not to my knowledge. Anyways shocked he decided to ‘retire’. Well okay retire is the wrong word here we all know he’ll be back in anywhere from a week to a month, take a break would be the better set of words here. But still shocked he decided to do it. Thought he’d be raging at Spongebob for the rest of his career, and I think I’d be even more shocked if he stuck with it and actually retired from BFBB.

That being said though there is still one bob game he can still rage at………..LIGHTS CAMERA PANTS GOLD HARD/SMART GRIND HERE WE GOOOOOOO! RETURN OF THE LEGENDARY LIGHTS CAMERA PANTS RUNS GOD PLEASE LET IT HAPPEN.

Is this a bit?
He's kind of done this before if I recall correctly in December last year. However this time he does have someone legitimately speedrunning the game now and getting close to his skills in it.

I think he's honestly just burntout, especially after the big time cut in the ps2 version was found a couple months ago and made it very unfun for him now. With frame perfect parts and glitching the games spatula collection out with the pulling memory card trick found.

He has shit on the spongebob movie game a lot in the past, but I do feel he is segwaying that way cause he did say he wants to capitalize on that game since no one has cared for it. Seems like the most logical route for him cause I don't see him quitting speedrunning.

SHiFT, after 10 years of speedrunning BFBB, has retired from WR grinding. This comes after StarSpeedruns, the current 2nd place runner, has closed the gap between himself and Shift to just 25s.

Man, I used to be really into his speedruns back during covid because it was really cool to see a childhood favorite be broken so badly. Frankly I'm glad he's moving on from this and maybe he'll make a step in the right direction.

Call me selfish but I kinda want to see him either unretire or still stream but freakout at other children's games chances are he sticks to his retirement and does the latter method but does it in a way that you know its staged and scripted which wont be as much fun I'm kinda tempted to go onto his stream chat and lead a "Please dont go" movement while everybody else in the chat is typing the exact same thing kinda like what would see in 90s and 2000s Wrestling
