There were multiple reasons, some of which I've spoken/posted about. There wasn't an "aw shit" moment but a stack of proverbial straws.

Funimation laid people off.

Monica and Jamie have both stated that they aren't working as much. (Monica's deposition and Jamie's NPR interview.)

He can still post literally anywhere else on the site, including the lawsuit thread.

But as soon as people start dropping facts, he goes to Twitter and pretends like they don't exist. The funniest part is how he tries to justify what he said.

The community isn't just people who support Vic and Nick and the people you don't like. There are plenty of people that just want everyone to shut up and move on so they can go back to enjoying anime.

But Shane only wants people who parrot him to be able to play in the sandbox. If you're asking people to stop being exceptional, you're problematic.

I am sure anyone as smart as shane realizes that it aint just kiwi's here. Outsiders, other KV, and even some of the lawyers(kv or iswv ones) browse the farms. Farms has been mention too many times on twitter and in legal documents, so I am sure some have caught his admittance of saying "fuck the community" when it came to the anime community.

It's a public forum, I'd say even more public than Twitter just because KF won't delete posts and silence people.

Anyone could go look for the exact message and find it.
