I think Nick has just actually made them that assmad by constantly mocking them. They thought "we'll show him" thought they might scare him a bit or shut him up, and their seals clap like it's a big win, meanwhile it's just more proof to everyone else that they're actual morons. Like pretty much everything else they do it backfires, riles up Nick's fanbase enough to net him another few grand in super chats and puts another 30k in Vic's GFM.

The only legit reason I could think is that they actually did it to intentionally cause the GFM to go up because they think they'll win the tcpa and want that sweet internet money.

I don't think they're that smart, but I also have a hard time believing they're stupid enough to actually believe that Nick, who likely setup the gfm with this scenario in mind, didn't dot his i's and cross his t's. But I am shocked anew everyday by the specimens I see that haven't been weeded out through thousands of years of human evolution.

I know this is optimistic, but how funny would it be if Shane created that fake GFM just for the screenshot and didn't realize it would actually be a federal crime as they allege?

It would not be the first time Shane was caught doing this sort of shit via a sock. And this one seems a bit too obvious. Note the only person who has seen the GFM is Shame, and it has been active 0 minutes. That means whoever took the screen shot created it. Gee? I wonder who that could be? Fucking Retard!
