When analyzing anything Shane types up, I have to remind myself that his natural logical conclusion to prevent his dog from eating his shoe was to place it on the surface where he slices the ingredients for his meals. Which means he is either mentally-handicapped, or is so goddamned lazy that he is a threat to the life and health of the people that live with him.

I think the level of stupidity we’ve seen so far is so high, that even if Vic wins with overwhelmingly clear evidence and a multimillion dollar settlement, we’re still going to see this shit again.

For the love of Christ, if you have substantial evidence, go to the police first, and if you don’t have any, keep your goddamn mouth shut.

IANAL so I don't know what kind of weird letter labeling that is, and granted these 2 e-mails were left out of the motion to compel on Friday. But BHBH clearly said they provided what was asked of them. I think the only missing doc in question was the "Risembool Rangers Discord" folder, which Casey said was empty while Ty said he saw a document in there.

Casey sent over 6 bullet points complaining about plaintiff's production responses. The above wipes out 4 of them. The last two are a complaint about bates-labeling (it's not required, tough shit), and a general complaint that "a large amount of documents are jumbled and inadmissible because they have apparently been altered". I wouldn't trust Casey on that point, but in any case, documents were produced, even if you don't like them.

If Shane thinks Ty looks bad because a possible permissions issue with a single file out of their responses, he's even more idiotic than I can describe.

What's amazing to me is that even when you don't meme Shane, his bizarre and staggering wrong leaps in logic remain, and are possibly even worse. You put a dirty shoe on your cutting board, not your counter, not the toy kitchenette, just the exact thing that raw food gets put on daily. And you couldn't even be bothered to take it off before you got on stream.

Shane is actually less ridiculous when he's memed than when he's not.

I expect the "agreed" part of that was Vic agreeing to the idea of a mea culpa in return for the smear campaign ending and a chance to get his work back. I doubt he would have agreed to a text containing any admissions like that and probably told them to take a hike when they presented him with the actual text.

Shane said that one of the parties didn't want to make any concessions, which suggests that there was disagreement about the wording. We may not find out that part of the back story before trial.
 
I'm pretty sure such a discussion isn't an admittance of guilt anyway. If the context is something like 'Guys, I don't understand. When did I hurt you? How? How can I make it up to you? You're my friends, I don't understand why this is happening.' and Ron and Monica then hammered him with guilt and accusations about all these people who were hurt by him, and how they know he didn't mean to do it, but now he has to own up to it, and if he just apologizes and admits to everything it'll all go away. In that context, if Vic is like 'So you're saying if I just admit to all of this and apologize, it'll go away?' I don't think it means anything.

Heck, even if he was the one to propose something like that, I don't think it means anything. And the fact that he's going forward with this lawsuit knowing that he sent those texts tells me that whatever it is isn't what they're claiming. He's not Ron. He's not going to say "Yes I did it but come on, Monica, why'd you tell them?!" and then be like "Now that I've unnecessarily incriminated myself, I shall sue them." - nor would BHBH be taking a tactic that would reveal those texts.

My personal suspicion is these texts happened either before or after the "IT HAPPENED TO ME" tweet, but before Monica blatantly lied about him pushing her into bed and grabbing her hair. He recognized one of the io9 stories as being Monica, so I think he'd have come to her wanting to know if she was really so hurt and upset with him when she'd been so happy and friendly with him until now. Likely those talks fell through because of something (maybe AO put Vic in contact with Nick at that point, who pointed him to BHBH and they were like "ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO THAT") and that's when Monica suddenly produced the fictitious details. I can't see Vic assuming good faith and agreeing to or offering anything after she blatantly lied about him.
