Because nothing would say There's no civil conspiracy' better than all the lawyers openly working together in ways that suggest they are all looking out for the interests of defendants who are not their clients.

Why would the co-defendants lawyers be looking out for the benefit of anyone other than their client? The other defendants aren't paying them, so why should they care about what happens to them when it doesn't directly involve their client or have any repercussions on their portion of the case?

No you see, it's like that one time during the special Olympics, where one runner totally ate shit and started crying. The other runners stopped and made sure that person was okay, and they all crossed the finish line together.

Because at the end of the day, they all got trophies and were treated like winners. And that's just fine and dandy.

Meanwhile we'll just be over here competing in the actual Olympics, and they're none the wiser on the fact that they're playing a completely different game...

Of course you wouldn't recognize a difference between talking to each other and showing up together for a hearing that has absolutely nothing to do with their respective clients. But that's not really the issue because there's no legitimate reason for any sane person to think the lawyers for the other defendants were there in the first place. We all know where you're getting your information.
