Called it. That's their strategy. Assert Nick's an agent of Vic and try to drag him into the suit somehow. If anything, everything I've seen from the defense so far almost reads more like they're responding to Nick, not Vic.

Seriously Nick would love nothing more than have it on the record that he called Ron a Cuck however many times. What is great is Casey is going to be billing a ton of hours just watching Nicks videos along with the 400 tweets from Ron alone. Casey sure does know how to play his clients.

Then there's the recorded phone sex call... Well suffice to say, I didn't know Soye's colon could make those sounds.

Lucky me, I have all of them. And while I am happy to share with you that they exist and that they make all my claims 100% true, while also showing all the people I dislike are completely full of shit, I cannot disclose them.

You see, I have this strange sense of honor, where I can tell you everything about the text messages, and how right they make me, but showing them somehow crosses the line. I made a promise to be vague and look like an ass on the internet, and darn it that's what I'm gonna do!

On "grifter": While real grifters certainly exist in most spaces, we see this accusation a lot from Social Justice. Here's a brief primer into how this word works in that context. You can see it being redefined before our eyes.

We, the newly accused, are grifting social capital, not money. It's following, voice, and influence that we're gathering, allegedly cynically, to ourselves by exploiting extreme examples of bad behavior (nutpicking) for our own benefit. It's not about money.

This is key. Social capital is the big operative. It's about ability to influence the narrative or making oneself more famous and influential, not money. Applied postmodernism is all about how discourses (how things are spoken about) construct power dynamics in society.

The whole point of this accusation is to redefine that term, grifter, so as to delegitimize criticism of their stuff by linking it to hollow motives. It's appealing to the applied postmodern crowd because it taps into their pathological hatred of utilizing capital to grow.

"Grifting" is done by the generation of shadow texts (which one of our own papers, Joke's on You, argued was essentially anything that doesn't agree with them) and exploitation of bad behavior (nutpicking) such that one increases in status in the morally objectionable tribe.

Are they redefining this term intentionally? Probably not really. Language is evolving in-tribe. It's mostly people on the ground applying a fashionable and discrediting insult that's tied to a kernel of truth with some obviously likely examples to back it up at need.

The main thing to keep in mind is that Social Justice types are pathologically obsessed with social influence, so that's the main thing they mean by "grifter," e.g. "free speech grifters" as applied to people on Twitter.

NB: Some people have actually made money doing this stuff, and that's a source of "kernel of truth" examples and the likely etymological place from which this new usage of "grifter" mutated.

I can’t believe this guy to be serious anymore. There is no way -no godly way- a person can be this dumb to say that if the evidence fails, the lawyers fail, the judge fails, and anything in-between, that he himself who lies about his own importance can take the reins of this whole situation.
