I've had some association with the organisers of a couple of cons in the past and it's been my experience that they are, to a man/woman/freak, a bunch of utter fuck-ups who only hold everything together through sheer luck, and only ended up in charge because all the sane folks originally involved realised how soul-destroying the process is.

But that's just my experience. Chances are greater than even I just hang out with idiots.

Which begs another question. Shane himself said on Nick's stream that he "wasn't really into anime." Why the fuck would he take on the responsibility of orchestrating conventions, that in itself a hectic and thankless job, for a hobby he's not into? It really makes zero sense, unless it allows him access to something he didn't have before (weeb vagina).

I can believe that was his motivation. No matter what people might claim, appearing to hold power and authority is a huge draw for certain kinds of women.

I can imagine it happened early on, maybe during the consultation: "Okay, Vic, you're going to have to tell me anything - and I mean anything - that the defense could hypothetically bring to hurt your case. You have to tell me the worst things you have done."

This is the most glorious schadenfreude ever.

He started volunteering at cons because his friends volunteered at them. It was a social thing. You could go from the goth club on Thursday, directly to the hotel, and make a long weekend of it. Even twenty years ago, he was very upfront about not actually giving a shit about anime. Akon was fan-run, not a for profit venture. It may have changed as it grew. I dunno. But there was a large group of kids that ran security, the art show, the hospitality suite, etc, in exchange for a free ticket. They used to get all nerd-competitive about the hierarchy of who "ran" what.

This guy never gave a fuck about bad behavior. He's the biggest fence-sitter ever. He prided himself on his fence-sitting. He literally fence-sat about some creep groping guests at a party he threw a few years ago. I'd bet he's still friends with a guy (Kevin) that was actually arrested and convicted of sex with a minor. He's just pissed off this Vic dude was a relative Chad dipping into his/his friends pool.

Let's remember that in one of the tweets we were shown kamehacon said that key to their decision had been that these "assaults by Vic" may have involved VAs AND they wanted to talk with Monica to verify this - they basically said that the stuff they were hearing from Ron and Monica was exactly the stuff that they dropped Vic for - whether they heard it somewhere else as well or not - and if they did hear it somewhere else where was that? Monica's twitter?

Additional to that is Shane just implicating more people in the TI here?
 
Anytime Shane has ever been asked something, with only one exception (and even then, that's being charitable), he has either given a non-answer, dodged, or delivered something provably false.

I know he's talking out of his ass, but is this idiot trying to throw the cons under the bus by claiming they all were discussing Vic's contracts with Soye? Unasked? They just happened to bring Vic's contract up with him, amazing.

Why would Soye even be talking with cons directly when he isn't a VA and Monica has an agent? The excuse for Kamehacon was his company's sponsorship, unless he offered to sponsor all of these cons which would be weird.

Stupid Shane thinks he's helping but he just made Soye sound even more deviously involved

I've been wondering why the Con knew who Ron Soye was to begin with. Does Ron have any connection to cons, anime or what all other then being Monica's cuck? Seems like there would have been a text saying "Who?"
