So, it seems the only thing @Shane_Yes_That_One is getting out of this is a mix of attention and trollshielding.

He wants Monica-senpai to notice him and people to be distracted attacking an innocent man like Vic so nobody finds out about Shane's own sexual indiscretions and predatory behavior, most of which actually has evidence of happening, unlike the baseless and unfounded accusations against Vic.
 
Shane has not said anything on Twitter lately. He's just been retweeting things.

I was at several of the early-ish Akons. Same shit, different year, back when Mary was still in charge, wee baby Shane was still called Bishop. It was always a safe place for creeps and getting underaged nerdgirls drunk. Also, one year the staff demanded the fan boys stop using the pool as a bath, because they'd turned the pool water salty.

I'd be zero percent surprised if Vic is a creep, and I'm zero percent surprised Shane is married to someone half his age.

Yeah, I've never understood what it is with con-goers and aversion to hygiene. On the Saturday I went, me and my friends had stayed at my grandmother's place the night before, took showers that morning, had breakfast, and then went to the con. I didn't really miss anything that wasn't worth seeing in those early hours.

But I'd say you are dead-on regarding the creepers running these events. It's not people like Vic they have to worry about, but the fuckers like Shane who can't get any action via normal human interaction, and instead rely on their so-called event credentials to grease the wheels, so to speak. But it's especially telling that Shane did the following: bragged about how young girls (his wife) gave great head, bragged about how he was the "one night stand king of the anime con circuit," and admitted that he wasn't really that big of an anime fan. It all just sounds like he was just there to prey on girls and get his dick wet. But Vic is the real villain. Right...

It's not something they actively think about in their normal lives so they just think everyone else doesn't. "I don't smell so I don't have to shower."

You forgot the brown pool, the jello pool and the burning pool.

Bishop @Shane_Yes_That_One is and always has been at the center of sexual misconduct allegations and the Phoenix ran A-Kon didn't do anything affirmative to stop or mitigate it. In fact it's only been the last 4-5 years that anything meaningful started being put in place to protect the attendees (and staff). It got too big to fast for amateurs to run very quickly and it eventually buried Mary and Dean financially.

Still, I wouldn't call it a "hotbed". Like the bad cop stories we get, those events were a very small percentage of the overall events and attendee population. But they are so outrageous and scandalous that they make the "news".

I only went to page 2 of google search so CBC, CNN, WSJ, ect, ect, the issue I have is they just never state anything that was found in court besides him pleading guilty. It also doesn't explicitly state it's to rape but was added after the accusation of alcohol.........
