Making a rival con, even if it's a really good idea and well-funded and with well-established and competent people running it - of which Shodaku is none - is stupid. There's a very limited customer base for cons, and smaller cons purposefully try to run at a different time from bigger ones (or are in a totally different place to appeal to different locals) because they can't compete. I've seen some cons juggle when they were placed from year to year just to dodge other local cons. That Shane thinks his extremely niche first year con with no one of importance involved in it can hate-rival A-Kon shows he is not a competent con runner.

Shane overestimates his relevancy in the grander scheme of things. He thinks that this Vic debacle has made him some sort of celebrity because he gets chosen to speak on behalf of a few whales.

What's funny (or tragic) is that the people who chose him to speak for them couldn't give less of a fuck about him. To them, he's disposable. They probably are disgusted by him. Rial and Marchi view him as useful vermin - sure, he's useful for them now, but they'll dispose of him as soon as they can. I bet we won't see Rial or Marchi at one of Shane's cons anytime soon.

Of course you won't. That's what parasites do. They find a host that suits their needs and once they've bled it dry they move on and leave. Shane is nothing to them. They give him little butt tickles and head pats to keep him satisfied and they prop him up until he's no longer a viable tool and as quickly as he wad brought into the fold he will be discarded.

I'm not owned. You're owned

Say @spirit of e m o s h what's the story with Shane and his involvement with Kamehacon
Define involvement. I know he was gonna be on staff until his shit show with Nick etc had started. He suddenly wasn't on staff sometime after that.

I've also already addressed his whole "ty threatened Slatosch" thing in this thread which is actually true. But that in and of itself doesn't substantiate any argument he's trying to make.

I dont get how they all seem to think Ty threatening Slatosch with legal ramifications is some smoking gun against Vic. There was a contract, that contract had to be followed or the party that broke it would be in trouble. Nothing new.

Because they think threat = blackmail.

"Do this and we won't hurt you" type thing. They assume it comes from a place of malice when things like this are standard procedure.

Since most of these people are familiar with evictions and bankruptcies, it's no different than a creditor looking to have something resolved or the court gets involved. But they're too stupid to grasp that since most of them defaulted anyway....

If his blatant child grooming ever becomes an issue, they'll never have heard of him.

But this is how contract law is handled. Do x, or suffer penalty Y. It's not rocket science.

So I say this for the lurkers of the farms and not people that have followed this for a time now. Ron dangling a 25k sponsorship on the condition of breaking a contract is free speech to these people, but a lawyer requiring a contract to be enforced under penalty of a lawsuit is somehow blackmail and illegal?

How do these people function in life?

That's exactly what's so hilarious about it and it's also exactly how they function in this industry.

It isn't a penalty, though. You aren't required to be punished by it. If someone breaches a contract, the other party is entitled to what they would have had were the contract not breached. The law doesn't really care whether you didn't deliver 5 tons of oats because you found something more profitable to do with them or just couldn't afford them because of a price change, it just requires you either deliver the 5 tons of oats or enough money to make up for not doing so.

Actively interfering with other people's contracts is an actual tort which can result in not just damages but punitive damages because that's considered more harmful behavior than even breaching the contract itself.

Bear in mind these are the same people that have one of their affiants actively threatening frivolous lawsuits against people who call him out for lying on his affidavit. It's not okay to threaten legal action for breaking a contract, but threatening random people on the internet for calling you a liar (ergo; you committed perjury) is perfectly cool. Free speech, and all.

I mean, they should better not get linked to a grimy sleazy dude, who uses phallus shaped imagery as symbol for his cons. They should also remember his iron cross tattoo and how "identity" is one of the slogans on his logo. After all, Shane "Spic-Choker" Holmberg is, according to Internet sources, a white trash racist.

And don't forget runs "Consent Con" which is apparently called that because they teach girls below the age of consent to be con sluts there.
