I only played a tiny bit of Shadow the Hedgehog, I wasn't impressed even as a teen who liked Sonic. Controls felt weird and it wasn't very colorful (being edgy doesn't need to mean bland looking).

I do wonder if I judged it too prematurely though, maybe I'd try it again. I'm more forgiving of jank now.

Shadow the Hedgehog was the first sonic game I ever played and was my intro to the world of Sonic.
Remembered having some very good times walking down the street to a friend's house playing Shadow the Hedgehog and messing around in it's battle mode on his GameCube.

For me, it was Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast and I hated it. When I play Advance on the GBA and Heroes on the Gamecube, I was properly introduced to the blue blur (other than AoSTH when that aired on Toon Disney back in the day)
