TORNADO EMERGENCY FOR A MASSIVE, EXCEPTIONALLY VIOLENT TORNADO. LOOKS JUST LIKE TUSCALOOSA. VELOCITY COUPLET IS MAXED OUT.
I was watching Brandon Copic's stream, he got way too close:

I'm not really up on my weather history, has a tornado ever torn through a major city like Memphis? I think I've only ever heard about towns being decimated or cities getting clipped.
Specifically Memphis, I believe so. An F4 struck it back in the 1980s if I remember correctly. Also, Waco TX, Lubbock TX, Fargo ND, OKC (many times) all had F5/EF5 tornadoes, and many more major cities have had F4/EF4 tornadoes, including Edmonton, Alberta, in Canada.

I don't have a screenshot, but a PDS Tornado Warning got dropped for southern Illinois a little while back, though it's expired now.

Been outside watching the lightning. Never seen such bright and beautifully terrifying lightning before. It's literally non-stop. Every second.

Very windy too. And the temp keeps going from hot to cold. It looks very spooky outside.

Also. I nearly had a heart attack earlier when I saw a "tornado" starting to form. Turns out it was a scud cloud.

God Speed fellow Kiwis, please keep your phones turned all the way up so that you can hear any new alerts that may come in over night.

Not entirely sure how appropriate it would be but I’ve been interested in the idea of creating a thread to check in and show signs of life like there was for Milton and Helene, whether it be for the storms themselves or the potentially historic amount of flooding that’s supposed to follow it

90 MPH recorded outside Indianapolis. Indiana getting fucking rocked. Confirmed tornado west of Muncie on direct approach too Anthony. Montpelier Indiana under PDS warning. 80 MPH winds forecasted. Tornado formation possible.

Tornado that tore through Lake City, Arkansas

I'm all the way up on the northern border, hopefully it's mostly just rain like it has been all day.

Lightningmaps.org is insane right now.

Watching for a few minutes I've seen numbers between 500 and 800 strikes per minute for that area.

For a more interesting view: https://map.blitzortung.org/#3.95/37.99/-87.01
for posterity, in comparison to the entire rest of the world at the moment:

would not recommend that any sensitive epileptics view the site right now as the red circles are spazzing out so frequently that it might actually be a mild seizure risk
