Severe weather update! The first one in a while.
A possible severe weather outbreak is setting up across the Northern Plains and part of the Midwest, mainly focused around South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. All severe threats, including tornadoes, and in my opinion a strong one or two, are possible on Wednesday and Thursday. Alongside this, a secondary threat of severe thunderstorms, including some tornadoes that may be strong, will be possible across parts of Ontario.
The models are pretty inconsistent with each other when it comes to forecasting this event, so I can't give much specific details about the parameters and such unfortunately.

Large tornado on the ground between Crosby, MN and Aitkin, MN!

Bavaria (the southern, Catholic part of Germany) had a 100 year flood on June 1st. Trains in the region were canceled for a few days, and flights were in chaos. A tremendous amount of water caused the Danube to overflow.

We’re gonna need a bigger Ark.

Possible tornado outbreak, and possible derecho, ongoing in Quebec and northern Ontario.

Storms are beginning to fire in southern Ontario, and many of these storms are rotating, including one near Ottawa that's tornado warned.

Not quite severe weather but any one else going through crazy amounts of Ozone in the air? The air quality is going to be bad in my area the next several days. Its been much worse and more consistently poor this year. Didnt think it was affecting me but turns out my allergies arent allergies.

not right now but last year i had pretty high ozone from the wild fires and it was not pleasant

i learned my HEPA filters don't really take care of ozone that well and you need activated carbon. my HEPA fans do have activated carbon prefilters but they're pretty thin. a box fan with a 20x20 furnace filter with activated carbon taped to the back helped quite a bit

i bought something like this because it was cheaper than an actual furnace filter

During the severe thunderstorms yesterday in Germany a supercell made it's way over the city of Leipzig, including an appearance over the stadium during the Czechia versus Portugal Euro match. Also they have started an investigation to determine whether the small town of Gröditz was hit by a tornado or a downburst.

That second photo looks so fake, even though I know it's real. Storms are beautiful.

Getting shittons of thunderstorms here and we had a weird thing - tornado sirens went off; but couldn’t find a damn thing online anywhere until like ten minutes after they went off. Not sure what delayed something there. Kinda freaky.

Looks like more of a LP supercell based on the shape and the virga trails vs. precipitation core so I'm inclined to say downburst as LP are more favorable for downburst events. Any type of supercell can create a tornado with the right conditions, of course.

Downbursts are very dangerous, I would argue more than tornadoes in certain cases (like airports) due to their unpredictable nature. A storm that may not appear to be a danger for flight in and of itself could contain a microburst that would be catastrophic for an aircraft to encounter.

The Greenfield tornado has now beaten the record for the highest recorded windspeeds on earth. Absolutely fucking mental.
