Senate cuts UW’s Gender Studies program

The Wyoming Senate voted 16 to 14 to eliminate the University of Wyoming Gender Studies program with a budget amendment.
The amendment came from Lingle Sen. Cheri Steinmetz, a member of the appropriations committee, who was reviewing course offerings at UW and thought some of the topics were extreme.
“It’s one that’s caused me to lose some sleep because as being (one of) the folks that deal with the public funds going to this University, I felt that this was one that our constituents, I know certainly mine, wouldn't agree with,” said Steinmetz. “And I would challenge any of you to take this home to your constituents and ask them what they think of it.”
Casper Sen. Charles Scott said, “this is extremely biased, ideologically driven that I can’t see any academically legitimacy to.”
But another Casper Sen. Bill Landen said he found it ironic to consider cutting Gender Studies in the same building where women were given the right to vote.
Cheyenne Sen. Tara Nethercott said the amendment goes too far and suggested that it might not be legal. The Wyoming House rejected a similar amendment saying that it was not an appropriate budget amendment.
The issue will come up again when House and Senate budget conference committee members meet. It could also be subject to a line item veto by the governor.

The real irony about Gender Studies is it's not about advacing women, but advancing men who say they are women at the expense of actual women.

Forgive the Sinfest comic, but

I say, change "Gender Studies" to an advanced medical program where the students specifically learn about biological and mental gender differences and the medical issues involved with gender related treatments in a clinical setting.

At least that way any idiot who signs up for it thinking it's woke gender studies will learn something useful.

I want this bitch to stealthily take these courses for a gender studies "degree" and try to get high marks or even graduate. Her, being a Republican, right leaning women, would not pass the classes without capitulating to the Marxist indoctrination ((( correct ))) answers. It's a made up curriculum based on feelings and thoughts, without any definite truths, with all '"correct'" answers being based on how far left the teacher straddles.

More embarassing for her, this would save Wyoming women from avoiding mountains of debt for a worthless degree.

Holy crap, a state senator doing their job for a change.

Its funny how during war/bad times in general, suddenly everyone is okay with dropping the woke shit.

Maybe there is a small silver lining to all of this...

Mind if I bump this thread with this video of the Babylon Bee where a gender studies grad meet a blue collar guy.
