Besides self defense and sustainability, I think a good sub forum idea would be one for people to talk about outdoors/irl experience (within good privacy bounds of course).

+1. A dedicated "prepper fitness" thread might also be a good idea. People underestimate the amount of strength & endurance you'd need to really survive on your own.

Thought about making a thread on containers and storage a few times.
On one hand its really just an autistic interest of mine, but on the other hand the right storage can make your life so much easier.

I don't like making threads, but if others think there's value there, I have a bit to contribute. What do you guys think?

Is there already a thread about https://www.opensourceecology.org/ founded by Marcin Jakubowski? I know very little about this project but it seems like it’s been around for a while and the mission statement reads like a self-sufficiency dream:

Hi! Never spent much time on this part of the forum, but these are topics I'm definitely interested in. However, I recently found a lolcow that I think would amuse a lot of Kiwis and I'm not sure where to put her? I was hoping to find some kind of "DIY prepper Youtube disasters" or "self-sufficiency off-grid grifters" thread, but haven't found anything yet using a number of search terms. As more and more people across the political and autism spectrums try to "flee the city", youtube off-grid grifters are definitely a growing lolcow pasture. Not sure if I have enough for a full proving grounds thread, nor am I sure that this "homestead" will survive the next month and may not be worth the effort! I guess I'm thinking of one-hitter threads like the great "Tranny social media sideshows" thread. If anyone wants to steer me in the right direction, I'd love the help.
