If I was one of you segafags I would have already hung myself with controller wire. It's not too late to join the winning side. Nintendo Switch Lite is only $199.99
I tried to, but I was using a Dreamcast controller and hung myself from the floor instead. Besides, said controller still has a perfectly working analog stick after 25 years, which can't be said for what passes as an analog stick on the switch.

You guys gotta be negative nellies but imo this looks fucking great, as a fanatical Shinobi fanboy, very pleased. Nintendo should give up and kill themselves. Looks more auspicious than the new 2D Ninja Gaiden or the 3D one tbqh.
Looks solid and I like how they're taking inspiration from Shinobi 3.

The music gave me cancer, they definitely should have gotten Yoko Shimomura for the OST.

But, in my opinion, Streets of Rage 4 is a certified classic.
I initially didn't like SoR4.
Once I figured out how to actually play the game I came to the conclusion that it's very good.

SOR4 plays like the other 3 games, the only thing that's "changed" is the bouncing combo system, which depending on who you use may or may-not work to your advantage.

Shiva is a fucking BEAST in SOR4 though because he can do marvel combos in the air. Definitely OP tier

Yeah, even the old hit stun trick still kinda works.
My favourite ended up being the new cop lady.
I lubs snatching folks out of a juggle and going right into a ground N' pound.

With A Minecraft Movie owning the box office over the past month and HBO’ The Last of Us returning with a bang, Universal is looking to add its own video game adaptation to the mix with the help of two big superstars. Sources tell Deadline that the studio is developing a feature adaptation of Sega’s iconic arcade video game OutRun, with Michael Bay attached to direct and Sydney Sweeney aboard to produce. Jayson Rothwell will pen the script. Bay will also produce alongside partner Brad Fuller through their Platinum Dunes banner, which has a first-look deal with the studio. The project is in development; as of right now, Sweeney is only on board to produce. Toru Nakahara (Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3, Knuckles, Golden Axe) will also produce for Sega and Shuji Utsumi (president/COO of Sega Corp.) will oversee the project on behalf of Sega.
Michael Bay directing OutRun? .....that.....actually kinda makes sense.

the fans once again doing what Segain't.
One of the new mechanics present in this unofficial remake is the 'Altered Mode', in which "stages and challenges are completely reimagined". There's also 'Epic Battle Mode', which is essentially a boss rush mode. "Additionally, enjoy extra modes and exclusive options, such as CPU assistance in Versus Mode, new selectable levels, customizations, and more," continues the description. "Blending nostalgia and innovation, Altered Beast Remake offers an epic, refreshed experience for both fans and newcomers."

It's fucked up that SEGA publish most of the successful JRPGs these days but ignore their own classic franchises.
Skies of Arcadia, Shining Force and single player Phantasy Star should be regular releases alongside all the Atlus shit they're pumping out
Shining Force definitely needs to come back. I vaguely remember one that might have been in the PS2 era, but they changed the play style into more of an action rpg and I don't think I ever played it. I'm dying to have some kind of basic strategy RPG series again to play.

Technically Shining Force is part of the Shining series of games, and they're latest one "Blade Arcus Rebellion from Shining" is on the Nintendo Switch and PS4

Regarding Shining Force in general, there was supposed to be a game released in 2022 but
  1. It was going to be for Mobile (Android/iOS)
  2. It was going to be enhanced remakes of SF1-SF2-SFCD
  3. Vespa, who was collaborating with HIVE, layed off 90% of their staff during development due to little funds.
Aside from that, the only other "newer" Shining Force game is "Shining Force Cross" on the arcade and "Shining Force Feather" on the DS. Both in Japan only, because of course it is.

Built with some kind of framework for browser games, then packaged in a desktop launcher. Uses touch screen controls by default, have to switch to controller. Lots of typos and spiclish: the word "left" is used where I think he meant back/cancel, "rise fron your grave", etc. Lots of mismatched sprites ripped from different games. Froze when I beat the second stage. Overall 8/10, a fine effort, does not supersede the arcade original.
