Look, I know you deleted all the links in your OP out of fear of Garland's litigatious tendencies, but you're among friends here. She'll have to go after the Farms directly in order to follow up on that lolsuit of her's, and that means more eyes on what she's done. That means SEGA's image will take a massive hit if they actually decide to follow through on their threats, cuz again, they'll have to get through Null first. No small task given what he's done to bolster the site's defenses.

And Garland, if you're somehow reading this, nobody wants you to KYS. We just want you to stop being a narsissistic gooner who blackmails youtubers.

Sega Set To Go Head-To-Head With Nintendo With Its Own Retail Store

“It’s really exciting and we need to do a lot more of that, because Sega is a consumer brand that is surprisingly not in front of consumers enough. Sonic is, but Sega isn’t. That’s one of 35 things I’m working on right now!”

SEGA Seeks 1 Billion Yen In Damages From Developer Of Mobile RPG 'Memento Mori'

Sega Corporation has filed a lawsuit against Japanese developer Bank of Innovation, alleging that the studio has infringed on multiple patents held by the Sonic publisher. Bank of Innovation is best known for its idle RPG Memento Mori, one of the titles Sega is targeting in a filing submitted to the Tokyo District Court. Japanese news site Otaku Research Institute reported the publisher is seeking ¥1 billion in damages, as well as an injunction against Memento Mori and related content. Bank of Innovation said it does not believe its titles infringe on Sega's rights and will defend itself from this litigation. It is reported that the two companies were in ongoing discussions over this issue but were unable to reach an agreement, leading Sega to take legal action. Japan-based analyst Dr Serkan Toto said via X that one of the five patents in question concerns a specific system for fusing character cards of the same kind in collection games. He added that the ¥1 billion damages, if granted to Sega, will "significantly hurt BOI financially."

>one of the five patents in question concerns a specific system for fusing character cards of the same kind in collection games
So basically what almost ALL gacha games do when ranking up characters???

Jesus fuck, leave it to SEGA to look at Nintendo and go "hold my beer".

What I predicted in another post; large VG companies hold patents for pointless mechanics, and when a competitor arises, they just slap it with 100 lawsuits. It's impossible for an indie dev to know all these patents. You'd have to go through 500000 different files and analyse them, then make adjustments accordingly. Also, some patents are mechanics that a dev could have copied from another, non-Sega game, or a patent that is not used in any published game.

If you read these patent files, they're super vague and obscure, and could apply to 2/3rds of all games. Hell, they technically "patented" the entire JRPG genre.

My guess is that they're gearing up to sell us the same games again, in a different format. There's an outside chance that could even be a good thing, since the existing Genesis collections aren't great. Bring back Sega Ages you homos.
Whart?
Blast City Mini 3?
You got it pal!

A new Sega Genesis collection would be nice. While I could obviously and quite easily just emulate it, I certainly wish that there was an official way to play Crusader of Centy that doesn't involve either importing a Sega Genesis Mini 2 or paying monthly fees for Switch Online.

They already announced some sort of Crazy Taxi rerelease before the multiplayer reboot releases, but I'm scared they're gonna fuck it up somehow (they'll certainly fuck up the soundtrack but I'm sure it'd be easy enough to mod that back to the original) Such shit they didn't even have the courtesy of putting up a small discount before delisting them
