I am starting a project, looking for tips on good shit that will not leave my wallet feeling sad. It is bad enough I already had to replace ddr5 ram and a nvme during this ass rape times.

I want Wi-Fi/ solar camera(s) for outside that have;
  • no cancer subscription
  • app/browser controlled - no subscription
  • local storage with continuous recording in loop , a micro SD is sufficient
The cameras will not have access to Internet, I already have an iot vlan for them.

Anyone have any recommendations?

ETA; I fed this into openai and it spit out this brand;

I know nothing about cameras, I currently just have two old cameras in my shop and my front door, but they are like 15 years old if not 20.

The reolink solar cameras are triggered recording, not continuous. I don't think they'd have enough battery life to record continuously unless it was a sunny day and they weren't in a location that is shaded for part of the day. They are good cameras though, minimal cloud involvement and reliable. I have a couple of them on the front corners of my property mounted up on trees. They never run out of battery even though they only get sun for half of the day on average. The audio quality is ass though and they don't tell you the state of charge when plugged into the solar panels for some reason.

I don't like to double post, but this video is probably worth watching for kiwis who are setting up surveillance cameras and will be using WiFi cameras and I didn't know it existed when I made my last post.
