There's a reason why I avoid BT's twitter nowadays. This is why. Like I said before his ego is the size of Texas after Chupp threw out the lawsuit. He thinks he's right and you can't tell him otherwise. He'll either ignore or belittle you depending on your response.

Someone mentioned this in Fantasy Soft Thread when describing Kenneth and people similar to him but I think it applies to BT as well:

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Chupp throw out the lawsuit because he just couldn't bring himself to give a shit about either side?

This is just GamerGate: Anime Edition at this point. The only difference is that a good man nearly got destroyed, chased out of the industry he worked in and backstabbed by people he thought were his friends.

At least with ComicsGate, some people were able to successfully create an alternative choice for those done with Marvel and DC.

Ultimately, a dismissal via TCPA is a ruling that the plaintiff couldn't prove his claims overcame the defendants' right to free speech. That's it.

The maddening thing about Chupp's ruling is that it explained zero. It didn't say where Vic failed, it just said lol no lawsuit for you.

So for destroying a man's livelihood, career and reputation, Funimation, Jamie Marchi & Moronica got off with a slap on the wrist.

Our justice system is utter bullshit. Hopefully something happens on appeals but I have very little hope at this point.

If we're going to be completely real, it's far better than that (for the defendants).

Not only will Vic have to pay their legal fees (well, except for the ~150k of MoRon), but all of Vic's detractors are going to use the dismissal as proof that everything said about Vic is true (even though the ruling said nothing of the sort).

They're already doing it. I've seen a few tweets of Shane saying things to the effect of "because of the dismissal it's not defamatory to call Vic a sexual assaulter."
