Again, whether Kyle illegally carried the gun or not is independent of his self defense claim. A felon illegally possessing a gun can use it to legally defend himself if his life is put in danger.
Disabled Abel doesn't even know his facts. Pedobaum was the first person shot, and Kyle was heading to the police line expressly to turn himself in when Huber, Grosskruetz and the mob tried to kill him.

It's not even the pedo part. That should be irrelevant to the matter of self defense.
The pertinent part is Pedobaum tried to grab Kyle's gun, after pursuing and cornering Kyle, who was descalating the situation by retreating (even if he didn't have to). I can't stress how much of a reasonable fear for your life it is when someone tries to grab your fucking gun.
EDIT: Especially when the person attempting the grab is larger than you and had previously been displaying aggressive behavior, as was the case with Pedobaum and Kyle.
