This borderline makes me MATI, because, unlike Thicc Lasagna, whether Kyle wins or not has real world implications for me and anyone else. If what Kyle did was not self defense, self defense is dead in America.
Kyle might have had illegal possession of a firearm.
Maybe. The law is confusing on that. That does not give you the right to pursue him and put him in fear of his life. For fuck's sake. The witness for the prosecution said Pedopaum initiated hostilities, Kyle retreated (even though he has no duty to retreat in WI), and that Pedobaum made a grab for Kyle's gun. I'm sorry, if you make a grab for my gun I will automatically fear for my life since you can turn my own gun on me, or simply disarm me and proceed to beat me to death (since Pedobaum was a large adult and Kyle was a babyfaced teenager).
After that, Kyle is retreating to the police, and he gets knocked down. Once knocked down, you can no longer retreat. He then gets jumpkicked in the head right before getting bashed on the head by Huber's skateboard. On top of that, Huber tries to grab Kyle's gun. See above. He also retardedly put the muzzle of a fucking AR right into his chest. What did he think was going to happen.
Lefty tried to get an angle on Kyle with his Glock(?). Again, reasonable fear when you're sitting on the ground and some fuckwad is making motions to shoot you.
As far as I know, most crimes don't waive your right to self defense. If I rear end your car and book it in a hit and run, and you corner me and start trying to beat me to death with a tire iron, I have not waived my right to pop you in the face. Hell, if someone broke into an ex-con's home and tried to murder him, and he used his illegally possessed firearm to shoot the intruder dead, he might get popped on illegal possession, but he has not waived his self defense claim.
If this was the case of Kyle being an active shooter going for a high score, and people were trying to bring him down, that's different. It's hard to be an active shooter when you're literally running away from the people you could be happily gunning down.
I'll take my tophats.
