Makes me glad I never went to those kinds of schools. Though the fact that these kids even go to those schools, and the fact that the faculty barely do anything to nip this behavior in the bud worries me.

If I had to guess, it's either:
1. The humor appeals to them (as sucky as it is).
2. The website's filled with people like them (autists, I mean), commenters and article writers alike.
3. They're that fucking stupid to cite websites with even less credibility than Wikipedia (remember that Cracked, no matter how terrible it can get, is a satire site first and foremost). Hell, I bet these guys would have done the same in school.

Cracked is a humor site and not meant to be taken seriously, or be used as a citation. However, cracked does do a good job in my opinion at linking to external sources.

That is keeping in mind that the purpose of the site is humor and not serious in deph-articles.

And I get the feeling that people keep citing it because they don't get the idea behind the site. Case in point, the link in @autisticdragonkin's post.
 
I don't know about anyone else, but now that I'm old then I wish that I applied myself more and didn't completely fuck up my high school by failing and skipping 1/3rd of my classes in public high school. I had a lot of other shit going on, but getting into colleges is a whole lot easier when you don't have a 1.6 GPA or graduated from a school for kids with emotional problems.

Use archieve anyway, even if the risk of it getting deleted is low. Just in case something happens and the site goes down.

As none of us are members, or know the culture we don't know for sure if the mods do delete things that they may disagree with, or how they'll react if this thread is discovered.

I'll use archive or images for things that aren't easily accessible to non-members. Anyway, Soul is a strong believer in "there's no such thing as bad publicity", and even when she was most contemptuous to the forums (setting them in read only for months on end), she still left all the threads up, along with leaving private message functionality in place so that users could coordinate setting up the later splinter site (by her own suggestion, admittedly).

I think most of them tend to be exagerating how bad their school is and their experience, due to being a teenager. Most of them, probably experience some sort of isolation from their peers, but also go to Middle Class schools. It's more common for them to be middle class, because people who do live in "ghettos" where gang violence does occur, and there is a risk of violence, are less likely to have computers or access to the internet, along with substantial knowledge to use it.
