He never said it was beyond the shadow of a doubt as of right now. If you don't read into it too much, he's just speaking about it during his tenure. Nothing points to him implicitly admitting he still runs the site or anything.
There's no US laws that @afounder has broken running the site that I'm aware of. The fact that you think he will eventually be prosecuted does not speak well to your beliefs. It's no different than Patrick Tomlinson's "Enjoy prison, stalker child."

I'm not sure if I agree with the "Pro-choice" aspect of it, but I can see the reasoning behind it, its an iffy subject.

Because in the US justice system at least, you can't just convict somebody of breaking a law that didn't exist when they committed the act. The closest thing you can do is sue them, I guess (not legal advice, don't do this).
Now if he's still running the site that's an entirely different story but you haven't shown that in any way.

It's been two years since the NYTimes' expose of the forum and guess what's happened? Nothing.
Representative Lori Trahan introduced the "Stop Online Suicide Assistance Forums Act" (SOSAFA) in 2022. First off, the statutory language of the SOSAFA criminalizes online suicide assistance—not the hosting of forums where such suicide assistance supposedly happens. But even with its extremely limited scope, the bill died before it got to committee. Nor was there an identical bill in the Senate.
I will explain to you how the U.S. government actually works: For a bill to pass a chamber, the very first step is to hold a first reading so it can be referred to a standing committee to consider any amendments, fiscal concerns, etc. before being referred back to the full chamber for the second and third readings. This didn't even happen for the SOSAFA. Second, an identical bill must pass both chambers (both the Senate and the House of Representatives) before it reaches the President's desk and becomes law. Nobody in the Senate sponsored an identical bill. And as Markass the Worst pointed out, the U.S. Constitution prevents criminal laws from being applied retroactively.

It reminds me very much of how Jordan Peterson spergs about antinatalism, where he thinks he's making rational logical arguments but it's super obvious to anyone listening that he (rightfully) has such an intense emotional reflexive reaction to the idea that it's unconscionable to him, and he's working backwards from that lizard brain revulsion response to try to reconcile it with his rational worldview. Some people are just so repulsed by the concept of suicide that it's impermissible to them, others don't feel that strongly, and no amount of discourse will bridge that.
It's why I ask if they support the individual's right to die, that seems to be the core of the issue anyway.
