That's not at all what I'm saying, I'm more just concerned about some of the statements the admins made. I'm not advocating for deplatforming, more that I'm questioning the motives and competency of these people

I don't see how this is relevant as how whether the website should or should not exist, as long as the content is legal.

Though not a business, if the management of any forum sucks, the free market will sort itself out and people will simply leave. No one is holding a user hostage. It is as simple as closing a browser tab.

You intentionally misrepresent rule changes in the past out of context. Suicide is a more complex topic than many people, like these journalists and parents seeking to blame something for their child's death, are willing to admit. If people don't have a public forum to discuss it, they're just going to do it in private. How many killed themselves because they had no place to go to see other people grappling with the same issues? If honest, uncensored discussion of the topic is not allowed in public, where will it take place? And will those private Discord servers face the same scrutiny and awareness SS has?

That's a rhetorical question, of course they won't. As uncomfortable as the topic of suicide makes many people, me included, a site like SS needs to exist. Parents should focus on watching their kids for the warning signs of depression and act accordingly, instead of blaming a website they saw on the news.

Earlier in the thread, I asked the admins about how they take preventative measures to avoid predatory sadists. This led into a discussion where they compared themselves to inventors taking a risk, compared people seeking to push suicidal people into committing to it to trolling, and their solution was boilerplate "making sure they fit into the community". If you actually want to say that that isn't eyebrow raising, more power to you, but I do not find their statements or attitudes on things competent or appropriate for the position they've put themselves into.

Well, this is not a thread about the incel forum, but about SS, but that particular rule change wasn't made by me. I think when that particular rule change happened, it was because staff didn't want to punish teen members for talking about wanting teen experiences.

However, when I returned to leadership, the rule I wanted was fully implemented, which was the rule that prohibits members from sexualizing anyone under the age of 18 and I put a rule in place that disallows anyone under 18 from joining.

Well, it is an exercise in risk taking. The forum software only allows you do to so much. We can make a million rules and SS has a good ruleset, but at the end of the day, you can only do so much. The staff can't see every private message or conversation, nor can you really expect them to catch every single little thing. If you ran a community, you would know that.

If Null didn't put his ass and pretty much his whole life on the line, this site that we are on would not be here. I just don't think you're making a very honest argument and I believe that you had your mind made up either way.

Will's using the same line of attack as the CCDH did when they deliberately left out context about these changes. It's a shame that an anti-pedo rule was framed as a bad thing when there was no rule of the sort before this.

The site was overrun with them in early 2022 (and 2021 and 2020), they got mad at another mod who was banning pedos and there were multiple wars in early 2022. Infinity was one of Small's proxies when he "left", Small had claimed Infinity was a white nationalist, but that neither made sense and their chat told me it was just Small.
The CCDH claiming .is is majority pedophiles is due to the volume of posts that supported child exploitation in threads geared toward such. However it seems by now most of those pedophiles just got their usernames renamed or just keep cycling in and out of forums with overlapping moderatorship.

Again, where's your proof?

Robtical isn't a pedo at all, and if you're going to claim that someone is X or Y then you really need to start producing some proof for your claim. Also using a leftist organization who's sole intent was to try to get forum shut down is not a good basis for your claim. I didn't have any proxy accounts, and Infinity wasn't my account at all. If you can produce evidence of any of your claims, that would be nice.
