this is good news but at the same time they need good games or a garrysmod to s&box converter if they want me to care about any part of it.

For a game thats pre 2010(2006, huh i thought it was 2009 for gmod9) these player numbers are fucking good.
For a while i expected a large update for the game but i guess garry didnt care that much since modders did most of the work for him entirely on their own.
I havent played gmod in a long time because the most popular servers are extremely retarded roleplay servers where unemployed people waste their life, hell back in early 2010´s i played way too much in a darkRP server that had very, very very lax rules(imagine people doing what ever the fuck they want and cops were there just to put mass RDMmers on a 10 minute cooldown, MAX)
Now from what ive seen the servers in gmod charge insane amounts for cosmetics and actual, ACTUAL mentally impaired people buy them.
Im 100% sure Garry knows how monetized alot of the servers are but he doesnt care. What he does care about however is that Warner Bros gave him a cease and desist to ban cringe harry potter servers from the public list. Orite he also once started blacklisting rp servers with the rape swep(knowers know) and the tryhard 1942 german rp servers, most tryhard of them being Typhon 1942(owner was kevin adams who ran gay discord servers, he also went to abortion clinics to scream at them, also joined some gay fed nationalist group that was filled with limpwristed faggots.).

I bet that sbox, if it becomes popular, will become popular, that all these cringe and degenerate behaviors will become a thing there too.

Buuut atleast sbox/gmod isnt roblox
 
Gary has lost any goodwill he had from me following the shutdown and deletion of the Facepunch forums, nuking a community, destroying content/history, and forcing the userbase to split into the very gay refugee site. Kinda funny to see that the same stubbornness applied to his treatment of the game. Despite all of this, I was hoping this game would find some success, but as many have mentioned, his inability to take feedback from his playerbase caused this game to shit the bed.

Going F2P is probably the best move here. I'll try it out when it does. Maybe some cool stuff will come out of it.
 
I kinda hope he gets hit by a car just for thinking that "sausage man" was gonna be so "hot and trendy" he had it tattooed on himself. What kind of crack are you smoking to look at such disgusting models and think "yeah, this is highly marketable, this should be the base default model for my follow up to Gmod"? Fucking mongoloid.

I imagine for some that the game going free-to-play is a good dead cat bounce moment to try and get some money from what may be a one-time influx of new players.
 
Going to take a moment here to remind everyone in this thread that the only reason Gmod even exists as it does is because Garry got trolled by people on a source modding forum into believing JBmod was an actual threat for the longest time. His entire career is because he managed to do a (somehow) functional INT 2 LCK 10 dev career until now.

I would say his entire career is a chart where the more Garry Newman is involved in something the less successful it is.

Gmod: Successful because Garry just made the frame work and limited his involvement in the actual content made by players

Rust: He gave the project to his employees and isn't super involved in it.

S&ndbox: Garry was heavily involved enough said.
