So there was a JNPR VA panel today

So JNPR VAs had a panel today....

  1. Miles originally didn't plan on voicing Jaune. He actually auditioned for other characters including Sun but Monty decided he would be good for Jaune because he is kind of a nerd.
  2. Volume 8 will have some scenes that really show Neath's skills as a VA. No spoilers but we will be getting some good Ren scenes next volume.
  3. Jen is of the opinion that resurrecting Pyrrha would cheapen her death, but, she does like the idea of Grimm Pyrrha.
Ill update when Im done.
Edit:Ok, done. Here is the rest for the highlights for me:
  1. Power scaling is not much of a factor, equipment, experience and mental state are. There is a threat about it already.
  2. We don't learn much of the characters in it of itself, but Miles does like and identifies with the idea that Jaune had to learn the hard way that he doesn't have to push through in the front lines and die a hero's death and that he can do a lot of good being in the back coordinating, supporting or just being there for his friends. I think that's in character with Jaune, I just hope this doesn't mean he won't get a fight of his own.
  3. Samantha wants Nora to marry Ren and for the two to conquer a small island and have a bunch of children that shoot lightning. Neath wants the island to be a bigger one. As you can see, Renora will conquer Menagerie and name it "Pancakevania".

EDIT: We may have a misquote on our hands. https://twitter.com/dandy3000/status/1271722029235003392

So, basically, if Yang went up against Ultra Instinct Goku, she just has to be "experienced" and have the "right equipment" to be a match for or even beat him?

We are reaching levels of retardation that shouldn't even be possible.

No brainer that the person with better experience and equipment wins. That's what power scaling is.

So, am I to believe that Oscar is suddenly good enough to have taken on Roman if he had a confidence boost and a bazooka?

This is the kind of stupid shit I expect from people that look up to Fairy Tail as the gold standard of fighting chinese cartoons. Astounding.
I mean, I know Monty was really into anime, but the stuff that usually comes up when he talks about it aren’t the titles that are considered the stuff of “snobs and elitists”. And that’s before the mountain of JRPGs and Final Fantasy supplemental material.

You mean the stuff Monty and crew enjoyed? The stuff I heard a lot was things like Soul Eater, Gurren Lagann, and Kill la Kill. My Hero Academia has also been brought up a lot by crew and fans the last few years.
And, strangely enough, a lot of RWBY fans seem to hate MHA.

Perhaps because, unlike their little sacred cow, MHA actually has good writing. And, better optics. I wouldn't be surprised that Miles has a secret hate boner for Horikoshi.

I would too if I have to tell my fandom to stop questioning how I wrote my shitty story plots. Without a doubt Miles and Kerry kept the shit show that is RWBY going with duck tape and prayers once Monty suddenly keeled over.

All of Warner Bros' gaming division is being sold right now. What are the odds RT and RT IPs don't get the same treatment?

There’s a chance nobody comes to buy because RWBY is nowhere near as popular as their fans think it is. So my predictions is....nobody would approach unless they REALLY wanted it and it’s probably going to be bundled up with something.

I don't think anyone is going to buy RWBY, even if they went so far as to outright sell themselves. Anyone with more then two brain cells can see that RT and its subsidiaries are slowly tanking in views. The last podcast Burnie did for example, got 400k views. Their latest? 100k views in less then three days, and you tend to make your most views in 48 hours. They haven't even broken 10 million subscribers on YouTube and the channel has been on the platform since its inception.

I said it earlier in the thread and I will say it again, RT is is fucking peanuts in the grand scheme of things. It would probably be more fiscally responsible to shut it down and rent their office space so a more productive division, but we are dealing in such small amounts of money that no one with any authority has actually considered doing it. The only reason they have been allowed to exist this long is because they are insignificant as a subsidiary.
