After all, the economy is making every company tighten the belt (something Warner seems to want to do), covid makes animation very difficult to do in general (and this is rwby, the show notorious for finishing shit at the last minute when things are going "well"), and with all the talks of RT being shut down (which is only supported by the round of internal layoffs and management changes) you have a recipe for a stillborn series "finale" that may never see the light of day.

If not that, then Season 8 at least. And if not that, then I at least expect Miles and Kerry to share some of the plot points or release what episodes (if any) they had gotten done.

While I understand where your friend is coming from I don't really agree, mainly because 1) RT writers are retarded and thus basic action and reaction doesn't seem like something they'd follow unless it leads into whatever plot they want and 2) I can't buy Salem as a serious threat at all because she, much like almost every other antagonist in RWBY, comes off like a joke on the audience (with the joke being "boy, remember that cliché archetype from X show? What if we take away the only interesting and creative aspects of its portrayal in that show?") so I expect anything related to her to end with the laziest of plot devices, most likely lolSilverEyes. In fact if RWBY actually has a final fight that doesn't boil down to Ruby being a deus ex machina and then everyone pretending that somehow lolSilverEyes = team effort (while shoving propaganda on the side, gotta love the bees! Buy the new waifu character in the Clash Royale clone!) I'll buy RT's Jaune merch and eat a bullet.

Would make sense, considering he ditched the podcast a long while back, claiming he wants to "work behind the scenes more"... looks like he was doing more then working behind the scenes.

In the summer of 1990, I packed everything I owned into a beat up old Nissan and set out for Austin to study Biology/PreMed at the University of Texas. Over the next thirty years, I changed majors twice, made some incredible friends, sold the car for two hundred dollars, had a wild dotcom career in telecom, raised three sons and started a small media company in a spare bedroom of my house that blossomed into something beyond my wildest dreams. It is a bit surreal that three decades later, almost to the day, I will be moving out of this city that I may always call “home” to begin a grand new adventure in a life overseas.

And as I set out on this new journey with my family and two cats at my side, that means my time walking the halls here at Rooster Teeth has come to an end. As some of you have predicted over the past year, my steady move away from a public life was in preparation for this change. So I hope this will not come as too much of a surprise. A few months ago, I enjoyed returning to the spotlight for a short podcast run with my old friends, and I would like to be able to continue to explore my creative passions. To that end, Rooster Teeth and I are currently working on a first-look agreement, which will enable me to incubate my own projects and then present them to the company for possible development.

It is difficult to leave my home country during such a tumultuous time. Ashley and I set these plans in motion over two years ago, and we could never have predicted the state of the world at the time we would embark. We believe in the strength and the promise of this nation as much as ever. We look forward to returning to a country that has made many long overdue changes to benefit all of its citizens.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who supported me in my career at RT, with special thanks to Tony Goncalves who so skillfully leads the Otter family and Jordan Levin, who has RT moving in incredible new directions. Starting this company and growing it in the early years were some of the hardest but greatest moments of my life. The constant camaraderie of Gus, Geoff, and Matt always made the impossible seem achievable; I could not have asked for better companions on this journey. My wife Ashley has been the stable bedrock of my life and I am overjoyed to begin this next chapter of our family's story together.

Thank you to every person who has walked through these doors as a collaborator or tuned in to one of our videos as a viewer or made the choice to become a member of our community. Your support has meant the world to me and I hope that I had even a fraction of the positive impact on your life that you have had on mine. There have been a lot of ups and a few downs over the years, and I have learned so much from all of those experiences. I am eternally grateful that I had the opportunity to do what I love every day — an opportunity that I owe entirely to all of you.

I was still holding out hope that RvB could be salvaged still, but the removal of Joel and Burnie has solidified the fact that season 10 will forever be the last good season. Now all that is left is for Gus, Jack and Geoff to leave and RvB can finally be dead.

RT changed forever, man. That just hit me. With Burnie gone, the RT won't recover.

While the "woke" curse has been hitting Burnie, I always held respect for him due to something he said years ago. It had to do with Trumps election where he basically told all his employees to shut the fuck up about Trump when going abroad (wish he put that gag order on Twitter too). He said this due to his PROFESSIONAL experience before RT when Bush was elected and he was told by his prior manager to shut the fuck up about Bush when going abroad.

The reasoning being that politics should have no place in your professional work and that by bringing it with you when talking with foreign colleagues (or just other people in general) you just invite arguments/conflicts that hurt business and didn't need to happen.

Edit: oh and Rwby seems deader than ever with all the senior management leaving.
 
RoosterTeeth has, and will remain to be, a sinking fucking ship. For Bernie to put out a giant textwall the way he did leads to me think he made most of those poor decisions, there's a FUCK TON of poor decisions:

Constantly buying out other channels, only for them to die a year or two later (The Creatures, Sugar Pine 7, Cow Chop)

Making crappy video games and failing to advertise them outside of their circle jerk of a website (Vicious Circle (heh...), RWBY: Grimm Eclipse, which I only knew existed because of ShammyTV's middling review)

The Vic drama, and the God awful fanbase surrounding RWBY.

The constant attempt to make new shows to surpass RWBY, RvB, etc, unless they're shorts, have failed.

And of course, everyone else above a desk slave seeing the writing on the wall and getting the fuck out, dwindling viewership... need I go on?

Nah, fam, RWBY is doing fine. It's the most popular show in the world right now. The highest billed and with stellar ratings to boot./sneed

You're just mad that your favorite show promoting toxic masculinity is being rejected by everyone, you dirty primitive. We've won! We've fucking won! Get rekt!/sneed

The autism is strong within this fandom. Not as much as the Steven Universe fandom, but close.

The music that sounds like something from an early 2000s teenage garage girl band is not what I would consider to be good. The theme songs of the main girls for example are forgettable.

To be fair to them, I get get Hero Hei being declared haram since he's kind of a sped. Adel aka being verboten is them just being thin skinned faggots.

Yeah, my bad, I meant partnership, but The Creatures died the same year RT partnered with them. SP7 won one award and proceeded to crash spectacularly in viewership after Season 2 (I think there was some drama regarding their partnership?). CowChop was interesting though, because I remember they had a bit of an issue regarding the split for payment of their partnership after they got to certain goals.
