Let's be frank here, if she had, she'd probably act like a bigger idiot and side with Clover.

And if we're being more honest, everyone except Penny seemed to drop in intelligence once the order was dropped (which begs the question, why just the Huntspeople and Oscar, why weren't Robyn or Penny issued arrest orders?). Even Winter decided to go "Fuck my sister" over all this.
I'm pretty sure you've thought about this much more than any of the writers have

Not really, but if I'm questioning Miles and Kerry's piss poor, on the seat of their pants writing (which is easy to the point of pointless redundancy), then that's the surefire way of saying "They swapped so many opportunities and plot details out for fight scenes".

I mean really, not one of Ace-Ops ever question their orders? Winter turns on her sister instantly? The whole thing just reaks of false stakes right there. Even those fighting seem to have lost some IQ between Neo becoming a jobber, Qrow fighting alongside Tyrian and Tyrian not killing both Clover and Qrow when Vol. 4 made it perfectly clear he wants the latter dead. Like I said, Penny seems to be the only one with any sense during the episode.

That's what I meant. Miles and the rest of his merry band of idiots didn't think about the story. They had an outcome in mind and they were sure to make it happen regardless of how little sense it made. It's really been Miles' MO since Volume 3 with how everyone will act like idiots or become inexplicably hyper competent literally just so a very particular outcome will happen. They don't think about how the actions of the characters are inconsistent or how the story is bending over backwards to force something to happen. Just putting a bit of thought into the story of RWBY breaks it into a million pieces. It's bafflingly stupid that Qrow wouldn't fight Tyrian especially after Tyrian not only almost killed him but also tried to kill Ruby. But that all gets thrown out the window because they need to contrive Clover's death.

... Alright, so let's take a look at this list.
  • Shaking hands = PTSD
  • Ironwood and the Ace Ops suddenly become evil villains with the intent to kill RWBY = "Not black and white".
  • Pitied only in song. Forgotten after the person is dead? Definitely.
  • It's too bad no one actually does a redemption arc in RWBY outside of like one person and that's because her love interest straddled her.
  • In doing so, the person being selectively trustful is also paranoid.
  • Tweets flying everywhere proclaiming a character is of the LGBT = "no special treatment".
  • "Lol, Black Sun will never be canon, succ it!"
  • It's funny how they say that, but if someone actually points out how Blake abuses Sun, they'd most likely go "no, he was just beeing a creepah (aaaaw man!)"
  • Yes, classic literature... like the 2016 elections.
Okay, the list isn't too bad, but there's obviously some points that aren't 1:1 with what we see in the show.

But unfortunately, no one will listen because...

I dont criticize the show because I think its desolate trash, I criticize because I liked the show before, but they've started doing stupid shit that should be criticized.
What these shills fail to understand is that the people who criticized the show the most are people who WERE fans of the show. They just want to live in their bubble and think that anyone who says anything negative about their precious show is just a hater (as per the command of their false god Miles Luna) but the truth is that we used to like the show until it started to get bad, and we called it out. I wasn't angry at how bad Miles wrote the show because I hate RWBY. If I just hated it I wouldn't have bothered to say anything about it. But I genuinely enjoyed the beginning of RWBY and I'm mad that the show has gone down the drain. The show has gotten so bad that many more people have become critical and it just pisses these shills off cause that makes it harder for them to live in their bubble.

It's kinda sad that as the quality of animation (which honestly isn't much) improves, the quality of writing has decreased

Could someone hook me up with a synopsis of the episode?

A large number of characters (all main characters and side characters) realize they are being pitted against each other by the "evil genius forces" but all fight each other anyway. It is even worse than when they did this exact same arc in Season 3/4.

Literally a main character teamed up with a murderer to fight once of the Ace Ops guys and was fucking shocked when the murderer had a plan other than "let's do teamwork". It's just a montage of main characters being 100% retarted.

It's just a never ending parade of failures and fuck ups. RWBY is, without question, a complete write-off of a species... and how dare they make me care about them!

  • Shaking hands = PTSD
I actually know a guy who was in the military who, while he didn't lose a limb, got his arm real fucked up over in the middle east and still suffers from PTSD to this day. It's only through a ton of physical therapy and throwing himself into running his restaurant that he's even close to back to normal.

He told me that Yang's PTSD (and how the writers were patting themselves on the back for it) was like a massive wad of spit in the face and is legitimately insulting. To see people praising the writers for that absolute hack job always makes me roll my eyes hard enough to see the back of my skull.

Yeah, the PTSD subplot could have been interesting and even the way they make a subtle nod to it could be enough for most fans, especially since their argument is that it's better to be subtle about it than to go over the top.

But the problem is just that: sometimes it's too subtle. Most PTSD are portrayed as the screaming from night terrors, the Vietnam flashbacks, or seeing ghosts of people because that's the most direct way to address that a character has PTSD. And while Yang's hands shaking could qualify as PTSD movements, in the end it didn't pay off as well as when it was done in Volume 4 or even Volume 6.

There, Yang kept seeing flashes of Adam, both in her dreams and in her reality. While she didn't full on freak out when Adam was there, she did pause when he mentioned Beacon. All while her shaking hands are just that: shaking hands.

Hell, I'd argue that there's more people who's more deserving of the PTSD subplot than Yang, like Jaune, who had his mother figure killed and he was thrown out of the way because he only held her back with his inexperience. Or Ruby, who saw two of her friends die in front of her, her sister reduced to a husk of her former self (one that never recovers her fun attitude, even after she gets out of her funk), and her two friends left RWBY without her knowing, one of them making that decision herself. Even Ironwood could qualify as having a PTSD plot.

I mean, I get why Yang got the PTSD storyline, but the execution definitely fell flat for some people.
