I really, really want them to address Blake's traumas involving Adam and Yang's involving abandonment. They started to in Volume 6, but they never finished it. It's not too late- it'll be awkward as fuck now that they were idiots and made them 'cyoot useless lesbians lmao', but it needs to happen if I'm to suspend my disbelief enough to accept this pairing.

Funny enough, the majority of the major FNDM figures I know agree with this take. I'm hoping that I'm wrong, and that RT will actually do it, but I don't have high hopes.

HILLDAWG WAS SUPPOSED TO WIN!!! SHE HAD THIS IN THE BAG!!! Sorry, wrong election. I think...

Good to see that ReNora has now finally become official. :semperfidelis: If I'm not mistaken it's also the first confirmed ship. Arkos btw doesn't count since it's not a ship but a sunken wreck.

I personally don't mind Bumblebee. In an alternate timeline I can see it being a viable ship had this been worked on early enough instead of a panic decision that contributed to the show becoming such a clusterfuck. It could have been done well without Sun, especially Adam and even Yang herself being casualties.
Going all out muh drumpf stand-in I see.
Jacques Schnee makes all these grandiose promises and pussies out of them in the end. People who have dirt on Robyn Hill are prone to committing (((suicide))). And after being arrested, Tyrian is found dead in his cell just when he was due to being interrogated on Robyn.

Watts is a fucking icon. Finally, a RWBY villain who doesn't seem to be an exceptional individual or a complete joke. I can't wait to see him get ruined or Mary Sue'd out of the ass to his defeat.
I can't wait for Ruby to speech at him that it was her tur...mmm, wait. too obvious. "It was her time!"

Talk about TDS the episode. Worst part of it was how this is yet more conflation of hacking the DNC servers (proving Bernie got robbed by Hillary) with a non-existant hack of voting machines. Best part was Penny getting her innocence shattered. Hopefully Watts hacks Penny and we get a nuts and dolts fight.

Man Yang's getting done dirty this year. All of her character stuff has just been awkwardly checking Blake out and one scene in a montage with Ruby. She's just become Blake's sidekick.

Tyrian and Watts were the MVPs, I really hope the show doesn't Deus Ex Machina a win for the heroes because Watts genuienly seems like a threatening and smart baddie.

Honestly, she’s just been around since all her motivations were satisfied after volume 5. And the relationship with Ruby has been to the point where if we weren’t told they were sisters, we wouldn’t know. She seems to be more of the group’s muscle than an actual character.

As for Watts, he’s actually doing better than I thought. For a show known for fights, who would have thought the scrawny mustache would be the best antagonist?

Ah, I see somebody else wants to see Ruby be forced to make painful choices, like being forced to mercy kill. What are the odds this leads to the destruction of The Penny Project so we just don’t get another Penny MK. X.0?

So after watching this past episode, can we assume Robyn's going to go after the protagonists for their hand in letting Penny escape?

Oh and ReNora was obvious from the get go. Though I am amazed it took them this long to finally make them kiss.

It's been a journey. Given the overall faggotry both within the show and behind the scenes ReNora/Flower Power becoming canon is almost wholesome by comparison.

Sure, why not? Also, I’m surprised Ren and Nora got an onscreen kiss before Blake and Yang did.
Honestly, I was expecting Ren and Nora to be one of the last ones to kiss at their wedding in like some epilogue montage. Like others have said, they've been together from the get-go and the kiss would just be a formality at that point.

That being said, good God that was wholesome.

I get the feeling that Watts is in the wrong setting. He's never been shown to have any fight skills, and him getting bitchslapped the moment he's within reach makes sense to me.
Getting to him needs to be the problem.

More or less every notable villain working with/for Salem is lazy writing. Doubly that it's the Drumprifh stand-in in Volume 7. It makes the world so damn small.

Also, I'm still waiting to see how Robyn or Jacques winning is supposed to undo what Ironwood has done. They aren't nominated for president or some supreme ruler position. Ironwood already has two seats.

Honestly, I'm more baffled by Hill trying to be a vigilante freedom fighter outside of the law and yet she wants to run for council where she has to work with the same law she opposes and says it doesn't always work? Personally, they should've dropped either the Robin Hood spiel she was created with or have her do that stuff with her Huntresses in private / not in the public eye while running for council.

The two things conflict with each other, badly, and the end result is an annoying character who you find terrible because she's a contradiction or because she's a stand-in for Hilary Clinton.

I can only think that what we saw was them trying to do the “X by day, Y by night”. How hard is it to do something like the Bruce Wayne/Batman split?
Robyn Hill. Holy shit, they aren't even being remotely subtle about it.
Being subtle was never a strong suit of this show. Having said that, She may not be Hillary just because Jacques is seen as Trump, though that may be me not being well versed in politics.

Then they botched up such a simple concept (Literally something that’s been in Comics for ages), hilariously bad when even amateur fanfic writers with their own Donut Steel superheroes can understand that.

Robyn stopping a military convoy and then requesting Clover to hand over the materials (With a hand motion for her demands), despite the fact that she’s not even elected at that time or you know that she’s making a thinly veiled threat to someone who’s apart of a special operation squad and is DIRECTLY under Ironwood...Hell, when Clover tells her to do it the legal way;she retorts “Where’s the fun in that?” before her cronies try to just steal the materials until Penny shot that down.

I don’t know what Robyn was snorting, but I think trying to do something illegal (And in plain sight at that) is probably not the best way to secure voters with the only thing I can think of is her becoming a martyr if she got arrested.

Jfc, this is sad.

So can we just (continue to) say that the plot to this series makes absolutely no sense? Salem's "big plan" was to send Watts and Tyrian into Mantle to stir up trouble and attract Grimm. They plan to do this by staging what I thought would be an assassination attempt on Robyn Hill and pin the blame on Ironwood somehow. There are several reasons why this confuses me and shouldn't and wouldn't work:

1. Are you telling me there were no other eyewitnesses at that party besides Ruby and Penny? Correct me if I'm wrong but there were a couple of Faunesses there, right? Don't they have animal-like abilities like, I dunno, being able to see in the dark?

2. Penny's blades, in no way, match the type of wounds Tyrian's tail can inflict. Maybe the blades on his guns could pass, but he stabbed plenty of people with his tail. As soon as someone puts it together that multiple people were stabbed with a tail, no one will believe Penny did that.

3. Don't know how vote reporting in Mantle works, but Watts changed several of those districts from yellow to blue with a wave of his hand. They'll be at least several districts in Mantle crying voter fraud if their district suddenly changed hands after they'd submitted all their votes.

4. At the beginning of the episode Ruby is shown using her Semblance (which in a previous episode was classified as a speed-type) in a new, never-before-seen way. In this episode she is one of the slowest ones to react to anything: she doesn't try and tackle Robyn off the stage and she doesn't try to go after Tyrian at all.

5. Penny, who can see in the dark, also does not give pursuit to Tyrian. She just stands over Robyn until the lights come back on.

6. Why doesn't anyone make the obvious connection that if Ironwood wanted Robyn dead, why didn't Penny kill her? The lights come back on and she's just standing over her in a defensive position over Robyn after what looks like someone carved a bloody path from the stage right through the middle of the crowd. Which makes no sense because at the beginning of this scene Penny is standing guard at the foot of the stage so if she wanted to kill Robyn she could've just turned around and done it? Why kill a bunch of people in the crowd first and then kill Robyn?

7. Doesn't Mantle have a bunch of great defenses against Grimm? How are they suddenly in the kingdom, flying around in swarms, after this one little incident? Don't you have robots or turrets or that shield thing from the Amity Colosseum?

Gotta give it to the writing team of RWBY for consistently fumbling good ideas with Fridge Logic. The most obvious and straightforward way to go about writing this scene is to have Watts use his Semblance to control Penny directly and have her try to kill Robyn while Ruby tearfully restrains her. Maybe I'm just miffed that the writers continue to pick on one of my favorite characters, but this is clearly just artificial drama that will be cleared up by the end of the season in a very predictable fashion. I'm glad RenNora got canonized but the feeling is tinged with trepidation. If something bad happens to one of those two I'm officially calling Miles and Kerry out for being bigoted towards gingers.

Does Watts even have a Semblance? Also, Penny being hacked is probably some finale shit.
