I couldn't agree more. One can only dream what, if handled by a decent writer, kind of an interesting relationship Adam and Blake would have had. Personally, I would have done something similar to Metal Gear Solid 3 with Adam playing the role of The Boss and Blake of Naked Snake/Big Boss.

Alternatively, if they are dead set on Bumblebee fanservice, they should have made Adam not just an incel, but a fedora wearing Supreme Gentleman, making it his mission to take vengeance on the Yangs for fucking all the Blakes and Stacys.
So, are you saying the abusive ex thing wouldn’t be an issue if it was a thing from Day 1?
Turn him into Vergin?

Ah DMC 2013. Most hated thing on the Internet 2013 and probably one of the reasons DMC 5 exists and is the way it is.
I never really thought of Vergil as a pro choice guy
I remember there being a moment where Vergil in that game cements himself as...not pro life.

Actually I think if he was established to be abusive, the Gaston if you will, then his character wouldn't be the biggest problem of what happened to him in the story. But we're stuck here, where an extremist for faunus rights is reduced to being a whiny incel with a sword.

Yet it still was better than Devil May Cry 2.

The whole thread is worth a read, but the first tweet is a pretty good TL;DR. And this guy’s RWBY takes are really good and my friends love em.

well not the most hated... gone home came out. At least DMC had actual gameplay

I disagree with this guy, our villains looked pathetic at the clusterfuck known as Battle of Haven from Miss "I Got Lit Up Like a Christmas Tree" who literally fucked up so much that it's a miracle she was partially exiled, instead of getting a Grimm Claw to the chest for shitting the bed that hard.

The bad guys are a laughable joke, and when you make Roman Torchwick seem more like a credible threat then you know the writers fucked up.

Eh, I’d say that Cinder could be forgiven had she been focused on the hate boner that blinded her instead of that being thrown to the wayside. But his point still makes sense: whichever side loses will forever be painted as a joke.

Also, has this show EVER had a major conflict not end as a total win for either side? Even during the Monty days? RL wars are full of tactical and partial wins that come with asterisks.

Fair enough, I'll concede to that point.

Honestly, I don't think so? Maybe the whole fight against the White Fang in Volume 2, but that depends on if you interpret as such.

An evil alliance consisting of Team Rocket (Just Jesse James and Meowth not the greater organization), Robbie Rotten, Rex and Weevil, Zorak and Moltar, the Pilaf Gang, Shocker, Dr Light after he was lobotomized, Condiment King, Swiper, Bulk and Skull, the incarnation of the Shredder from the 1987 cartoon, Waspinator, Chris Chan, Dr Doofenshmirtz, Cobra Commander, Andrew Dobson, Skeletor, General Hux, Wiley Coyote, Darksydephil, Dr Drakken, The Monarch, Every Atop The Fourth Wall Villain, and Brianna Wu would be a more credible threat than Any of Rwby's villains acting on their own

Yes. Maybe with a bit more angst.

While we're at it you could turn Raven and Qrow into Vergil and Dante (from the original continuity of course) and Yang into Nero.

So, are you saying the abusive ex thing wouldn’t be an issue if it was a thing from Day 1?
Only if they went for the dark comedy route and established Adam as a(n intentional) joke character who's a virgin with rage. A plot point could be that all the alleged discrimination against the Faunus is bullshit and that the White Fang's campaign of terrorism is just part of Adam's master plan to finally get laid. In the end he's so desperate for pussy, he's just one French accent and 'tard fetish away from being a Faunus JF.

Otherwise I'd prefer them sticking to the original plan of Adam being Blake's mentor, or even go a step further and establish Blake as an orphan to whom Adam was the closest thing to a family she ever had but then parted ways on ideological differences. Think of Metal Gear Solid 3 meets Blown Away.

Adam was ruined the moment he started talking at the end of V3.
Oh absolutely. The second they threw in that he was Blake's abusive ex out of quite literally nowhere at the end of Volume 3 Adam's character was done. It didn't make any sense and completely swerves away from all the build up Adam had up to that point. It's a disappointment cause I absolutely love the ideas of Adam being like family to Blake.

Wait why was Adam there anyways? I can’t remember why.

And then Volume 4 showed Menagerie...woof.

Oh yeah the absolutely horrible, destitute, filthy, grueling...... tropical resort with perfect weather and a peaceful society of happy people.
And Blake’s parents being the hippie dad and the loving mother (that everyone considers top tier MILF material).

Also, where I hang on Discord to talk RWBY, I see so many takes on Twitter that my friends and I just love to take the piss over.

And not just that. Blake's parents aren't just both loving her dad is CHIEF OF MENAGERIE. They live in a giant house on a tropical island away from human discrimination and that means Blake literally left her happy home to go join a terrorist group. Volume 4 screwed up Blake's entire storyline so much...

Yeah I like Milfdonna but Blake's family shouldn't have been a thing in the first place
