That is an interesting (& imo, true) point. Powers affecting personality, or the semblance someone is born with, predestining the personality of each character. That makes personality fated, which takes choice away. It’s annoying to think about. The case of Mercury Black was mentioned above, too, & that makes everything worse. Or, just one more, of a score of incredibly huge plot holes no one has ever cared to fill in. How the fuck did Daddy Black steal Merc’s semblance, & why the fuck has one sentence never been given to even slightly explain things? His semblance (Dad Black, forgot his first name) being “stealing others semblances,” is cope for plot holes. Doesn’t have to be, but, as it was just left alone for years, it is. How convenient, just give it the old semblance treatment, & never explain. How does RWBY have so many plot holes? It’s the shows semblance, see, & was fated to never fill them. Low effort shit I’ve never noticed before.
