Ironic that Thomas complains about people fetishizing the fuck out of LGBT characters when they themselves do the exact same thing but with a thin veneer of wokeness slapped on top.

You forgot to add extra irony when Tommy Boy was the one of many who cried “BERRY UR GEIS!” to CRWBY after Clover died, despite there being no confirmation of his sexuality by M &K or Eddy~

Funny thing, I’ve wondered if he was worthy of a thread, but I decided against it since all he’s got is shitty RWBY takes and leftist politics.

The only RWBY-related person I can see carrying a thread is HeroHei since he's basically becoming "What if Billy Usher from OAG picked up a microphone instead of a site domain."

Probably was the for best, Tommy like Cuck Cuck Luna, Barbara, or the rest of RT should be contained here since none of them reach cow levels as Sheena Oum.
I feel like at least Miles deserves a thread.

Hero Hei does have a site.

Wait Jessica Negiri was on the show? Why the hell are they so insistent on making her so relevant to the plot.

I've now completely rewritten the OP. If there is anything you think that needs to be added or changed please let me know.
Not too bad. Although I’d add the “it’s a cartoon” incident to the CRWBY section. https://kiwifarms.net/threads/rwby.62189/post-6269824

As for Lindsay, the only argument I’ve heard about her body was that she’s got mom bod from having two kids and I noticed that you didn’t include Kara Eberle (Weiss’ VA, she’s pretty chill and fans call her “best girl” amongst the VAs) and Arryn Zech (Blake’s VA, some more critical watchers could give you some stories about her).

Because Negiri is a friend of quite a few folks in RT and Miles/Kerry/Monty really didn't think ahead at all. Not just about how expensive Negiri likely is now (I imagine she gave friend rates for Season 1, and jacked up since), but also her general lack of VA talent and inability to be available due to her cosplay gigs. Then again, most of the in house VA's are garbage because they just hired friends to do the VA work.

Yeah, the V1 production was really barebones. And back then, I don’t think they could even get big name VAs until V3 with Vic as Qrow and Winter’s VA (her name escapes me but I remember Shane saying that Sheena was supposed to be in the show opposite Monty as Qrow) and they didn’t go to the industry standard Maya until V4. Going to friends and in house RT workers as VAs was probably all they could do at the time.

I know that, its just that a few of them should have been replaced once they got a budget. Most notably, Barbara has barely improved and she was awful to begin with and negiri is several degrees of terrible. Fuck, they had a whole volume where she was absent for no good reason (I assume she couldn't deal with the schedule that year?) and it barely had an impact on the character. Hell, Cinder became a better character without the voice because Negiri was just that terrible. But, RT decided to simp and bring her back despite how awful she still is.

The show doesn't have much in the way of a budget (or RT is just exceptionally cheap) for voice acting. The voice cast is mainly one of two groups of people.

Rooster Teeth Employees - this encompasses the "main" cast - nearly 70% of it, but these people are not VAs by trade. They are high level people (like VPs) down to secretaries - although a few people have left the company since. This also includes the husbands/wives/friends of various employees as well.

"Famous" people - Famous is in quotes because the people are web famous instead of real famous. This included Jessica Negiri - but also includes "some guy from Achievement Hunter who knows Miles" or "one of the guys from Mega64 but the 4th one people forget about" or "a guy with a fedora from Team FourStar". These are people (even Ngiri) who probably do it for cheap/for free and cannot command a VA's salary. It's likely that RT is trying to draw some fans out of these people's audiences.

Starting from Season 4 forward - they started hiring "real" VAs, but in small roles just to boost their profile. For example, they hired Tara Platt - but she voices Blake's mom in like 3 episodes and will never be heard from again. They got Chris Sabat to play a villian who doesn't talk much (or scream at all). Yuri Lowenthal voiced a very small time villian who they won't likely go back to. They had Vic in a semi-close to main role, but for many seasons was just a background/side character.

They're basically trying to do this as cheap as possible while still trying to grab some names (Sabat, Lowenthal, Platt) that people care about, but not putting them in "major" roles. Any new characters that are going to be major parts of the story you can count on them being RT employees, youtubers, or really cheap/new VAs.

I had a whole post about the Barbara part if it helps. Tho yeah, the cartoon part should be added, it made the man known as the "most critical RWBY fan of all time"

I also made another post here about Jon Risinger being a pathetic being

I added the "It's a cartooooooooooooon!" incident to Barb's description. I find the theory about the allegedly drama-ridden breakup with her ex being the reason for Adam's character derail very interesting and I'd love to see something more substantial on that, if possible.

The reasons I didn't add Jon Risinger and Kara Eberle (for now) is that the former isn't relevant to RWBY (though I might be wrong) while the latter has her shit together. Regarding Arryn Zech however, I would love to see some noteworthy trivia or even Julay on her.

Weiss’ VA, she’s pretty chill (...)

Only time I've seen RT actually gor for the big names was Gen:LOCK, and even that was a huge waste, so now they're back to basics with their upcoming Transformers series, though Hasbro seems to have influenced some of the casting considering Optimus is being played by the guy doing the role in the Cyberverse cartoon and Megatron's voice is unchanged from the last failure of a web series.

At least with TF, the only RT in-house VA they got (at least as much as I can tell) is Miles. Though I get the feeling they might have intended for more of the RWBY regulars to show up in roles, call me crazy.

Solid edits, great job. Just two small things:

* The Techraptor link to Lindsay doesn't work.

* Gray's involvement in Volume 5 being terrible isn't because Genlock took resources from it- most of the RT sources have said he left RWBY alone and went after shows like Nomad of Nowhere instead. What Gray did to Volume 5 was simply leaving production around August/September 2017 (per Genlock's commentary track where he says work proprly began on the series around this time) without giving Kerry the heads up to find a temporary replacement as co-director.

Honestly, I’m hearing conflicting reports. If it wasn’t money Gray took from RWBY, it was manpower as a lot of RWBY animators and the Like were put on Gen Lock.

Done. The Techraptor link works on my part though.
