LGBTQ+ publisher Pink News has put the jobs of its four website reporters at risk.

Staff were told last week that the brand planned to continue publishing news, entertainment and pop culture content across text, video and social without this core team of journalists.

Senior reporter Sophie Perry wrote on Bluesky that she had been made redundant, adding: “In my redundancy consultation, I was told the brand is ‘moving away from having a reporter-led newsroom’. How can they make journalism without journalists? I have no clue either.”

Chief operating officer Anthony James told Press Gazette: “Pink News is evolving how we produce and publish content – not what we produce.

“Our focus as a publisher remains the same, and our team of over 25 journalists and producers will continue to deliver the news, pop culture and entertainment content our audiences expect across video, social and written formats.

“The changes underway are structural: improving coordination across teams and reducing duplication in how content is produced and published, so that our total output is better integrated across the business.

“This includes a proposed restructuring of four roles within our website editorial team. Consultation on that proposal is ongoing.”

Jamie Wareham, the founder of the QueerAF newsletter, said the plan “leaves a growing news gap for our community. Something we should all be concerned about.”

Pink News previously reviewed its “editorial team needs” two years ago, saying these had “changed over the last year as we’ve continued to lean into video and integrate how we develop content”. Roles affected at that time included news editor, entertainment editor and weekend editor and several non-editorial jobs.

Since then Pink News has faced complaints about the conduct of James and founder/CEO Benjamin Cohen, which they have rejected as groundless.

In 2024, the latest figures available on Companies House, Pink News made a profit of £1.7m (up from £1.5m in 2023 and down from £3.1m in 2022).

Lithgow even commented on this himself. Saying that it is conceivable that there will be ten years of filming and he was unsure he will live that long.

However, by then AI actors may be normalized and perhaps there will be a legal mechanism for characters to be played by specific AI constructions if recasting would prove difficult.

Apparently the Simpsons main cast voice actors all have contracts stating that they can’t be replaced by artificial or synthetic voice software, so there is awareness of this in law already.

I think this could prove to be an interesting case and precedent if it happens.
Which will further immortalize JK and undoubtedly cause more tranny seethe, thus combining JK and AI derangement syndrome!

My great peakening was kicked off by doing the basic math around the death count and realizing how underrepresentated they were in murder rates even just measured against the general population, 10+ years ago now. 'But surely,' I thought, 'these must be particularly terrible hate crime murders, then, since such a big deal is always being made of such a small number?' So I looked through all of them for that year and began my pilgrimage down the peaking path that moment. No hate crimes, a lot of fuck around and find out (including a number that were killed in self-defense after they tried to kill people), sealed by quite a few deaths that didn't legally qualify as murders and a number that weren't actually 'trans' at all, so obviously included to pad the unimpressive numbers. That was when I realized that these organizations were intentionally lying to us, badly, and were used to not being fact-checked on a basic level.

Despite the fact that they also tried to insist that trans women are women and no different to cis women, of course.

There could have been some further irritation that the character was portrayed as selfish, condescending and gave no fucks about the lifestyle changes with their effects on his family, but I stopped caring about it before reading more.

There was also a not insignificant number of Troons complaining about Chandler Bing being so uncomfortable with the situation and therefore a transphobe, but as usual they had missed the point.

Bing was uncomfortable because it was a huge and unexpected thing at the time, which destroyed a lot of his world view and perception of his father.
Which is perfectly understandable and reasonable for normal people, but trannies of course only consider the comfort of themselves and other trannies.

Therefore Bing was worse than Hitler, nay,
In fact, he was even worse than Ross.

Remember, they also have a decade or so of mainlining smutty HP fanfic. They can't be expected to remember every little detail of canon when there's hundreds of thousands of pages of every single character buttfucking every single other character (plus any number of self-insert Mary Sues) clogging up their cross hormone-atrophied minds.

I remember that part, despite not reading the books since I aged out of being their intended audience, because despite loving the books as a kid I grew up and didn't spend my adulthood obsessively lusting over fictional characters (many of them minors) and hoping my invitation to wizard school just got lost in the mail.

Suspect part of the reason for how we got into the mess we're in now is so many 'trans women' characters until pretty recently were almost always played by actual women, and most normies only knew about them from TV/movies, so when they hear about 'trans women' that's what they picture (unless they're Jerry Springer fans). Decades of conditioning to make them believe that's what modern medicine can achieve. That it can turn a man into Kathleen Turner. And while that could have been part of the intent, it's more likely that it's mainly that it's much easier to just cast a woman and say 'she used to be a man' than to find a TIM who can play the part well, particularly if the character is supposed to believably not be instantly clockable as a man to everyone for plot reasons.

There was a similar hoo-hah over the character of Hailey Cropper in long running soap opera Coronation Street.
Hailey was played by actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, and there were some noises that a transwoman actor should have got the role, but at that time, who the fuck could have done it?

While Coronation street is considered low brow to a certain extent, the actors are expected to be able to cope with lengthy and ongoing filming schedules. A soap role is not something a drama club drop out can do.

Ironically Hailey Cropper wound up marrying a character who is strongly implied to be autistic.
Trainspotter, nerd, timid gentle man, who runs the local cafe and rolls shop.
A lot of their dynamic was him being more than socially crippled and “her” helping him with his awkwardness and confidence.

Seems really unbelievable now, with what we know about the average tranny.

There's an episode where Rachel broke a rib and is unable to apply make-up by herself before work, so Ross does it for her and gets a little bit "creative" (makes her look like a hooker). She takes a look at her own face in the mirror and says : "I will just sit next to the transsexual from purchasing". Good one

I barely watched friends but disappointed that I missed that joke!

I hope all of the Troons who tried to give themselves Rachel cuts at the time tore their hair out in frustration.

Don't know if there have been similar uproars over it, but same thing for a Very Special Episode of 'Cheers,' the character in 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia' that Mac keeps hooking up with, a Very Special Episode of 'Law and Order: SVU,' and so on. On a basic level, yeah, biggest issue is the reality of trannies is irreconcilable with the fictional representation of trannies. Similarly, like how filmed adaptations of 'Jane Eyre' pretty much always end up adapting out the part with Mr. Rochester in drag, since he's supposed to have everyone fooled...doesn't translate convincingly from page to screen.

Fictional storylines involving trannies tend to make them unsuitable actors for the role, particularly if you need someone who can actually act. Maybe it's supposed to be a surprise reveal. Lol. Maybe it's supposed to be someone who comes across as very sympathetic and likeable and vulnerable. Lol. Maybe it's someone who's supposed to be a very attractive woman but just happened to have (or had) a dick. Lol. Maybe it's someone who is shown pre-transition at some point - at that point it's easier to just cast a normal man and put him in drag for the trans parts instead of one who already looks freakish after the hormones, surgeries, etc., and for that matter, they tend to refuse (for 'Orange is the New Black,' it only worked because Laverne Cox has an identical twin brother who played his character in the flashbacks). If they wrote honest portrayals, it would be way easier to cast authentically but good luck getting that optics disaster made.

And not to mention that casting trannies means you have to work with trannies on set, which just dissolves into a big cluster B nightmare in a workplace where losing time on their endless bullshit means wasting a ton of money (see: the whole 'Transparent' debacle with Jeffrey Tambor),

They can just shoot all his scenes up till the series finale now in case Ai remains controversial 15 years into the future.
 
As a never been HP fan I wandered online for a look at official merch that I could buy to help the Trans Genocide along a wee bit, and there is a LOT !

Thinking something like a pen or notepad could be triggering out in the wild for Troons , even a packet of HP sweets would work lol
