That's Linda Sarsour, who made herself the face of the Women's March during that period after it was organized when certain (whiter, jewisher) founders were pushed out in favor of a more BIPOC committee. I'm fairly sure she's an Islamist who advocates for Sharia in the US, and has said that Saudi Arabia treats women better than the West along with probably other things that don't stand up to any sort of scrutiny.

I caught a friend of mine framing that poster to hang up and found it really weird how she never wondered who that person was, let alone why a Muslim woman in a headscarf should represent an American women's protest movement. She said she thought it was beautiful or something like that.

That inexplicable chimera of Islamic 'feminism' even cropped up at the recent FiLiA conference in the UK:

Ya know I remember back when Rowling made the post that truly kicked off the troon jihad against her.

It was so amazingly milquetoast to the point of being limp in how much lipservice it paid to troons as h*ckin valid and stuff....even if Joanne eventually stated midway through how she would kinda prefer they didn't impose themselves on biological women in situations and locations where everyone being biologically female was a basic necessity to remove risks of sexual abuse being inflicted on vulnerable women and girls

After the subsequent five years of being aggressively exposed to the likes of Zargrug the Dilated it aint exactly an enigma as to why she is rather less charitable these days...

After some digging I found out this rotund furfag's actual name is Zachary Matthew James, and along with being a furfag he also was also an old timey channel awesome autist among other things. Always fun to backtrace a troon through the ages to see where the seeds of their degenerate existence were first planted

It's actually entirely explainable, if you bear in mind that the kind of woman driven to this point is absolutely terrified of male attention of any sort, and believes that all men are inherently violent and trying to rape her at every turn. They find, in Islam, both proof of their belief about male sexual violence, and a systematised framework of protection and shelter from that violence in the form of female "modesty". They don't seriously inhabit the reality of that framework; they are only seeing it from the outside, but what they see is a culture that "protects" women by giving them private spaces, hiding them away from public observation, and setting in place numerous rules that govern the interactions between men and women that they perceive as granting an immense level of power to women within that cultural framework. They're the sort of women who would give up their autonomy in exchange for the "powerful" safety Islam grants to women. They don't care that it would require them to be dependent on a male relative or husband. They're too obsessively focused on the safety aspect to consider the context.

The other aspect is that western activists (male or female) consistently portray Islam as a progressive alternative to western christian culture, for the simple reason that it is opposed to the west, is foreign, is different, and is exotic - you know, all the things they would otherwise describe as "cultural fetishisation". In their minds, Islam is "spicy" in comparison to the familiar "bland" culture they grew up in. It's powerful and vigorous, full of mystery and allure, and not afraid to commit violence to achieve its own ends. It's the leather-jacket-wearing bad boy whom they collectively date to say "fuck you, dad!", and that's all there is to it.
