Astroturfed fake-nice guy Pedro Pascal is angry at JK Rowling. Pascal has always creeped me out, something about him sets off alarm bells in my brain. He loves troons so much he must be a chaser at minimum. Can't wait to see the inevitable skeletons in his closet come out in about 2-5 years.

Pedro should tread carefully. The only reason he’s doing this is because his much younger failed actor brother Lucas trooned out and became “Lux”. A lot of that has to do with the fucked up circumstances of their family (dad is a disgraced doctor who ran a criminal fertility clinic, mom killed herself) and the two sons both being gay but only one of them became famous.

Pedro’s not responsible for what his dad did, but considering Jose Balmaceda’s actions are like something out of The Handmaid’s Tale, coming down on the side for taking away women’s right is probably best avoided.

The Strike books are fantastic, I genuinely think JKR is a great writer who's only gotten better as this series progresses. The mystery is good, the ins and outs of detective work are well-researched and realistic. The only way I'd say they resemble the harry potter books is that there's an overarching sense of familiarity, a sort of comfortable routine (at least when the action is slow). The series is also very grounded in real life London, with all locations being real and faithfully depicted, so that's cool too

What is up with these faggots and boycotting Rowling? When has it ever worked?

Didn't they try that with Hogwarts Legacy, and the game broke sales? I'm pretty sure Rowling's brought this up multiple times, but much like the games, she gets paid royalties whether a Harry Potter show gets made or not. She collects on the franchise regardless. I mean, never mind the merchandise, doesn't Universal Orlando Resort literally have a Harry Potter theme park attraction? What the fuck does she care what Pedro Pascal and his tranny brother think? They don't even live in the UK, so why should they give a shit?

It's all performative, and Pascal knows it. He's yet another close-minded celebrity who's using outrage to chance clout.

He has been vocal about it before, apparently supporting his co star from The last of us with being non-binary.

It is going to be interesting to see who sticks to these beliefs the more the pendulum swings.

It’s tempting to empathize with someone who has a troon brother he wants to protect, but presumably he has women in his life too. He doesn’t seem to be able to summon any respect or empathy for them. When I started a new job recently we had to do a bunch of that corpo “get to know your team” stuff so they went around asking our favorite books, movies, etc. I saw the opportunity to perform the Potter Test and it went off completely predictably: I said my favorite books were Harry Potter and that I was a slytherin, etc etc, just gushed that I loved them. It was creepy how compulsive it felt when a handful of people echoed back “I love it too! …” (pause) “…but JKR is so disgusting!! It’s such a shame, she ruined her own series,” etc etc. I just said “oh, hm” and we moved on. It’s so funny how they’re compelled to say the words every time the topic is brought up, so everyone knows they’re On The Right Side.
